hey there all,

i just got my first stang, and i was wondering with a 3.8 V6 what kind of gas mileage you were all getting, i dont know yet on mine, i was hopeing for 20-22 in town? i dont drive highway much at all.

i have a 1/8 below 3/4 tank right now, and im at like 90miles or something...

I got a 2001 with manual transmission. On average i get about 20 mpg. I drive to school in the morning, 2 min on highway, and then maybe 2 miles on back roads. Samething on the way home. In winter i get about 17-18 mpg.

i just filled up my gas tank after it going down to 1/2, and i got about 17.5 average i was a lttle hard on it, when i first got it, i wasnted to see if it responded well and if it would act up with any hard driving, since i tend to street lite drag every once in a while, so i gueess that didnt help the mpg very much, so i should get around 19 if i drive normall, i hope. 19 for in town in a v6 that big is pretty good, i guess.

I got a 2002 V6 automatic and drive mostly highway on my way to work. I get between 20 and 22 miles to the gallon. Since i've gotten the car last spring i've added a cold air intake and dual exhaust. Neither mods showed much of an improvement. If anything only maybe 2mpg at best. Hope this info helps.

I don't have a V6 mustang, but I have a '93 Thunderbird with the 3.8 engine. Overall, I average 20-22 mpg, and that's with a heavier car, automatic, and 155k miles on it. You should do at least that good or better :D

hey i have a 91 5.0 HO tbird too with 155,000. actually the odometer and the trip odometer stopped working at that.lol. i also have a 95 5 spd stang with a 2000 factory direct motor. i filled it up and now it is on the red at 100 miles but that is because all my gas is going out the right pipe, i am running rich and am getting it fixed today

wow, its been freezing cold here and over winter break ive been doing almost completely local driving and still managed 20mpg. during school when i commuted to campus every day with 70% highway id get 24mpg, and i run her hard a couple times each tank

Its winter now and with all my mods including 3.73 gears i manage 21-22 mpg on average city/highway mix driving. on interstate about 25mpg. you need to fill it up totaly reset teh trip drive it till the low fuel comes on then fill it up then take how many miles you went and divide it by the number of gallons you put in, i usualy get 290-300miles from full till the low fuel and i put in 12.5-13.5 gallons.

94' 3.8 with 94k here. I drive about 30 miles each way to work and get about 21-23 mpg. have had car less than a month now so haven't had a chance to tweak on it yet. Just K/N filter and air silencer removed.
