Front Coil-Overs for Cobra

  • Sponsors (?)

A front coilover system works by removing the factory spring entirely. The strut is then fitted with a special collar that acts as a spring perch, and the spring is located between that perch and a stop on the top of the strut. The ride height is then adjustable by simply raising or lowering the bottom perch height. The strut tower is now supporting ALL of the front weight (whereas the stock springs are pushing up on framerails), and its thus a good idea to switch to a 4-bolt aftermarket C/C plate to distribute the load more evenly. With a good C/C plate there should be no durability issues.
