Shift boot on an Automatic

I was wondering the same thing. Have you changed your handle to a knob yet if so what kind and what did you use for the overdrive button? With a billet trim ring and the right knob and a shift boot it would look awsome. I hope we get some info.

Nope.. just silver. UPR is a pretty good company though, you know they have it in black right?

Thats who I buy them from, but I only bought the silver.

I can attest to this, I just got my UPR X pipe in the mail today. VERY nice looking piece, top notch construction!

But back on topic, anyone with pics of a shifter boot on an auto?

I've been looking for a leather shifter boot to test out but I can't find anything cheap enough.

yeah.. where did the t-handle come from?

do both have the overdrive button and the reverse lockout button on them? I can see the overdrive button on the first one... its tiny though, but does the top of the ball push in for reverse?

thanks.

what about the overdrive button and where would you hook the boot up to? ansd a question for sr97gt66, where did you get that shifter handle and how did you get it on?
I got the handle and o/d button from MGW in the link trublustallion posted. The hardest part about installing it was removing the stock handle. The directions said to twist and pull up gently on the stock shift knob until it comes loose. Well mine never did really break loose so I gave it a pretty good twist and pull and it popped right off tearing the wires off with it. Luckily for me there was enough slack left in the wires that it turned out to not be a problem. Other than that installation was pretty straight foward. You can see in my second picture the o/d button is located on that black extension piece underneath the t-handle.

Here are a couple pics of my shifter set-up. I have the first generation Automatic handle from MGW and a leather Cobra boot. I had to move the O/D button to by the lighter but no problems, easy install and the compliments I get otn eh way it looks are amazing. Many people think I am lying when I tell them it is an auto until they don't see a clutch.

As far as not seeing the indicators, you just get used to putting it into gear by feel. Even my fiance can do it with out a problem and she only drives the car a couple times a year.
