I am thinking about getting a new Intake plenum but want to know if they are really worth it? I already have a 70mm FRPP throttle body and don't plan on upgrading to a 75mm if I get the plenum.

Is it better to get a C&L or Trick Flow?

Where have you seen them for the best price?

Thanks.

they are proven to give some results. most people around here have gone with either the C & L or Dragon plenums. Myself, i went with C & L and have been 100% satisfied. Other people went with the Dragon and they too have been totally satisfied.
the place i got mine was at Ronnie Diaz Motorsports

If you have a 70mm tb already go get the accufab. they have post over at the modular depot. the accufab with 70mm tb (accufab tb) outflowed all other plenums. the trick flow is cheaper and flowed 595cfm with 70mm where as the c&l flowed 597 with 75mm. the c&l only flowed 540cfm witha 70mm tb.

so to make a shor story long with the c&l you need the 75mm but with the others you dont. Unless the frpp tb just sucks in general. I have never used one.

If you're gonna go w/ a 70mm TB get the Accufab Plenum as it's designed for peak gains w/ the 70mm TB. I went w/ the C&L Plenum cuz I got a 75mm Accufab TB.

I lowered my ET by .231 and increased my MPH 2 mph with a P & P Dragon and FR 70mm TB.

Before: 14.081@98 (average of 4 runs)

After: [email protected] (average of 3 runs)

Just to be clear, the 75mm accufab fits on the accufab plenum and the stock plenum, and makes more power than the 70mm accufab throttle body right?

not necessarily. Accufabs 70mm TB goes with accufabs plenum. On the stock plenum your stock TB is good enough..

what are your current mods?

1999 Chrome Yellow GT Convertible - Engine/Drivetrain mods:

4R70W Automatic, Borla Cat-Back Exhaust, Magnaflow Catted X-Pipe, Steeda Underdrive Pulleys, MAC Cold Air Induction, FRPP 70 mm Throttle Body, 1/2" Intake Spacer, 180* Thermostat, Autolite 764's, B&M Tranny Cooler, PEP Trac Adapt, FRPP 4.10 Gears, SVO Rear Differential Cover, Custom Burned Diablo Chip

So are you guys saying not to get a C&L with the FRPP 70mm TB? I don't have the extra $$$ for a Accufab.

Do you mean the extra money for the accufab plenum or the tb? If you mean the tb then just keep your 70mm and get the accufab plenum. It makes the best gains at 70mm. Hope this helps

No, I am saying I don't have the $$ for an accufab anything, there stuff is way expensive (especially since I am saving almost every penny for a house)!

So the best way for me to go with a 70mm TB is with the TrickFlow plenum. About how much are those going for? (There is a C&L Plenum on E-Bay right now for $139 for a 2001+ -- Part number 711A)

Also:

I was researching the very same question...you can go to www.modulardepot.com. They did a side by side on the Dyno. Looks like Accufab is best with almost 8hp gain, but Draggon is not far behind with just over 7hp. Whole test was done with Stock as base line and 70mm TB on all mod Plenums. The Accufab was by far the best for added torque 7+ compared to 4+ witht the dragon. I'm saving my pennies for the Accufab!
