hey guys, my 17 by 9" chrome cobra R's are here as well as 2 nitto drag radials 275 40 17s, will they fit on my gt okay, is a stock suspension with 2.5" tailpipes, will I need spacers?
That's the same setup I'm gettin ready to run on my car but with chrome bullitts and toyo street slicks. I've already checked the fitment of the wheel. It has a 6.0 back space and there's not going to be a problem on the inside. most of the throw is to the outside. My car sits at stock height and I don't think there is going to be a problem but if there is I am going to roll my inner fender edges up to help the clearence. :nice:

I've got 17x9" Cobra Rs on my '92 with 275/40R17 Nittos all the way around and they fit just fine. There is a VERY slight rub on the inside sidewall of the front tires at full steering lock (nothing to even worry about). You may have slight issues with the rears. Mine rub a little bit on the quad shocks and they did rub the tailpipes. It all depends on how you have your catback adjusted. You may not have any problems, but if you do all you will need to do is re-adjust the exhaust. I was able to get about 3" of clearance, so it shouldn't be a big issue. I run 295 Nitto 555Rs on the rear of my '89 coupe. They're mounted on 15x8" Draglites and they rub on the wheel lips in a hard corner, but that's it (no quad shocks).

I have 17x9 Cobra R's with 275/40R17's on the back and 255/40R17 on the front. I had 245/45R17's and it didn't look right on the 17x9 wheel and scrubbed slightly in corners, so I traded for some 255/40's which are shoter but wider, doesn't rub or scrub at all. I had Futura 275's on back originally, they scrubbed all the time, got the same size Firestone SZ50's and rides a lot better. I have my Quads flipped with the boots cut off.

I put 315/35R17 BFG Drag radials on my car once just to see what happened. It would roll, but scrubbed on the slightest turn or bump, so I took them right off. I have Topline brand Cobra R's.
