Well I did it!
I added an O/R Dr. Gas X-Pipe to my Flowmaster American Thunder C/B.
WOW! :nice:
It is very throaty and very racey sounding at the same time.
-Quiet at idle.
-Sounds like an H-pipe at low RPM's.
-Roars and Howls at WOT (Yes it howls!).
-Sounds like a freakin jet plane!
-Quiet when crusing with less drone than H-Pipe.
I was sitting at a red light just after getting it installed and an SUV was stopped next to me. Inside the SUV was a middle aged couple and the woman says to me "Make it go real loud". I said "Oh sorry, I hope my cars exhaust wasn't bothering you" Then she and her husband say "No! We were just discussing how awesome your car sounded!" LOL :D
It is definatly an addictive sound!
at WOT I can hear the air flow underneath me, almost sounds like water rushing through
Anyway, this combo is highly recomended!
This X and Flows really do mix!
I bought some cats for it but they seemed too long to add to the pipe even though they were a "short version" of the Carsound Cats.
Hopefully I can add some later, I don't need any trouble.

lol this is exactly what I was saying when I first heard my setup. EXACTLY the way you described it. It is very addicting, but give it some time and you will want it louder. I have a feeling I'm way too young because even after the fact my rear window vibrates a little from the exhaust, I still want it louder!
Well I digress...Congragulations on your new setup!

Do you get that "water rushing through the pipes" sound when you get on it?

excellent combo. I think the best actually. Tim (cobrakiller) swears by this combo also btw...GIJoe is running this combo in his (estimated to be) 600+ hp cobrakiller tuned GT.

I've got the bassani o/r X and flows on mine but will be getting a dr gas o/r x for the head swap project. Reason being because I'm also putting on long tubes and I dont' want to have to butcher my bassani pipe :nonono:

Now post some sound clips!!!

Hmmmm.... water rushing sound..... are you sure you don't have an exhaust leak? Did they weld everything tight? Not trying to knock you car or anything. If you have an exhaust leak, it may mess with your tune. Doesn't hurt to double check. Someday I will improve my exhaust as well. Enjoy!

That combo goes on all our high HP cars..cant beat it IMHO..
Tim

I went with this set up based on your advice.
Thanks man! :nice:
I was the guy who called you yesterday about centering the X under the tranny.
Is that "whooshing" sound that I hear when stomping on the gas normal?
I think it might just be the air flowing through the tubes.
Also, I didn't see a way to weld on the cats I had bought for it.
No room between the pipe bends after the X.

If you're talking about that classic x-pipe sound, then yes! Especially around 3000 rpms, my baby just screams! It is very hard to explain but I believe it is the perfect balance between the "typical" H and X pipe sound.
