How to hit low 11's/high 10's NA?

More displacement with the right combo will surely only help the goal...

I left mine stock because I want to fit into local class racing for headsup which strokers are not allowed to run...

I've been wondering what kind of HP are we talkin about to get around low 11's? 400,500..... i know traction is a big deal as well, so we'll go with nitto 555R's with upper and lower control arms. all on a reg 89Gt no lighter then factory.
Any ideas? (i know it's hard to judge the driver means a lot to etc...etc... many variables)

With what you said I am going to say over 400 at the wheels would get some low 11's with that..

90Mustang, what setup u looking at for teh 306 to go 11s??

Well, I'm still looking at 12's N/A but maby down the road a little.

Traction is so much of the ET. People have gotten into the 12's with just gears, weight reduction, and a full drag suspension on otherwise stock 5.0 Foxbody. So I suppose that the 11's wouldn't be that difficult but the MPH would be minimal, but were talking ET's here.

A high revving 3.00" stroked 302 with good flowing induction and exaust can get there I have no doubt. There is more than just CID when it comes to building power, although it is a major player in a good team. A well balanced engine with a good valvetrain can also be a major player.

With my 306CI FTI custom cam.... Lightly and I mean lightly ported TFS TW heads.. Stock out of the bax Holley SysteMax Intake... 10:1 comp... Went 11.12 @ 121 @ 3125lbs

It's all in the combo... There is a big gap between low 11's and high 10's.. you need to pick on for your goal because both will require different amounts of work... It's a much bigger gap then say low 14 to high 13's.. It just takes more power to make up the difference..

Going to want longtubes/ Good size Injector / and the right parts matched up top...

holy f$%# perky when did you get your car to do that. when i saw you at mason dixon about a year and a half ago you just broke out of the twelves. now you got hail mary's with both wheels up.

Suspension and traction are probably as, if not more important ingredients than power. Your 60' times should be below 1.5 sec. to nail down those times.

I have a performance calculator on my computer, and for what its worth, at 2900lbs, 11.00 ET, you should need around 430rwhp. Yes, I realize there are other variables, but it should give you some idea.

Pure Street cars are coming in at around 3000lbs and around 450rwhp to make those numbers, so that seems about right.

Perky...very nice. :nice: Prota-gay... :rlaugh: Too bad someone's big head got in the way during the video, you just see the wheels lift, then the back of someones head :( Oh well. Nice job.

I think your numbers are a little high.. I know what some of the faster PS cars run 10.50/10.60's are making I have seen the sheets.. and PS car weighed in at 3150 last year and 3100 this year

Here are the raw numbers from my car last year.....

3125lbs 11.12 @ 120.7 RWHP 370 with 60' of 1.45
