Im looking into buying some upper and lower control arms for my 95gt , this is a daily driver / weekend warrior. Ive noticed that there are multiple types of bushings mainly 3-piece polyurethane , delrin , and spherical. Ive read that spherical ones are not good for street applications , so I guess those are out of the question. Please explain the differences , pros and cons , and any experience you may have had with using these bushings. If there are any other bushings I left out feel free to give info about them too. Thanks.

Search, my friend

Either on this board, or over at www.corner-carvers.com, type in delrin, poly*, and bush* as your search parameters. If that yields too many, then add the term control arm. That should do ya.

Briefly, the stock rubber, polyurethane, delrin, and spherical bearing have increasing levels of of stiffness as well as increasing levels of NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), in that order. The stiffer bushing will generally give a more solid feel to the car, but you wouldn't want something as solid as the spherical bearing on the street, as the noise is unbearable by most peoples standards. Do some reading on the topic; it all depends on what you want.

i would rule out spherical. either poly or delrin. the 3-piece poly is a pretty good bushing that is alot stiffer than the stock rubber ones. you want a bushing that allows the control arms to move a bit for them to work properly, but you don't want them to move enough taht they flex and produce deflection. Delrin bushings are the next step up. they are a stiffer bushing, and will give you more postive feeling for handling. if your gonna be doing primarily straight lines, i would go with just the poly, they will work good. if you want twisty turns, go with the delrins. they will give you a more stiffer feel under hard cornering.

as you can tell i've been doing my homework. i'm in the market for control arms also.
personally i'm look at Steeda's drag pak
