I just bought a 2001 Mustang GT and I want to get better exhaust and was thinking about getting Flowmasters. Any Ideas, if so where can I but the exhaust at and what would it cost me?

there is no best exhaust...... when it comes to exhaust it's down to taste what you like best

edit: well with catback mostly and hpipe or x-pipe sorta headers are a different story

don't know what kind of $ u are lookin to spend, but i had my flowmaster 40's welded in-line with stock system (after the prochamber) for less than 100 bucks. prob, makes 1 or 2 less hp than cat-back, but neither one is really gonna make that much hp. of course, i think the new tips u get with most cat-back systems are nicer than those dull stock tips.

Anyone hear if American Thunder Flowmasters are any good.......I want to have a deep and mean sound.

I agree with the dude that said it's all about personal preference. Lots of good aftermarket exhaust out there depending on what you can afford to spend. Listen to the clips on www.mustangexhaust.com and then try and pay attention to what other Mustangs on the road sound like. Then make a decision.

For a deep mean sound I would get Magnapacks with off-road H-pipe, unless you're in California in which case you can't pass the SMOG test . Otherwise the off-road H-pipe with Magnapacks is loud. For a racier sound add headers. Bassani has a unique rumble too. But most folks will tell you Magnapacks are loudest. When it come to exhaust, everyone has their own favs for different reasons.

I had 2 chamber flows and an off road h pipe and i loved it but got into trouble and had to take them off. Now i have the magnaflow catback from partshopper. Its loud when you need it to be but you can still quiet it down for the five 0.....

I think any aftermarket exhaust sounds good, its all personal preference, get what you think is nice.

Definitely check out www.mustangexhaust.com. Takes a few minutes to register, but has all kindsa combos to listen to. Magnaflows are probably the cheapest stainless catbacks. But WARNING, The price will go up by the end of the month! I just ordered some magna flows from www.completeexhaust.com as suggested by another thread. They want $299.99 plus s&h. When I called he said that the price will go to $435 (or was it $465?) at the end of the month.

i dunt know what your into but everyone has a different preference. But I think going with bassani is a good choice.. it has a mean throaty sound and deep in tone... wished it could be louder but im very content with bassani exhausts w/ Xpipes.

hands down bassani quiet thunder. It is the meanest sounding exhaust. It is throaty and when you get on it has a roar that sounds like a nascar. It has the best quality.
Remember you get what you pay for. Houston performance has the best prices on them.
