Well first I'd add a fuel pressure guage & a Adj. FPR if you don't have them, blow down tube you'll need to pass tech.
Window switch is not require but safer for beginners... I used a hand held button.
Jacobs/msd/ remote opener is fluff you don't NEED it but they are nice to have if you have the cash.

Ditto on the fp gauge, I would run the window switch as well cheap insurance for around $80, forget the jacobs and remote opener. I've never run nitrous, but I would go with a wet kit myself, just me though. One other thing you might want to think about if you have the cash is something along the lines of a msd digital6, wich pulls timing automatically when nitrous is engaged, also maybe a wot switch. Good luck, and hang on.
mike.

well my prices were off summit has this zex kit but dosent list any of the other stuff will any purge heater work???

i have a msd 6al if i dont get the timing controller what would i do or should i just sell it for the digital 6?? also i have fuel press gauge and afpr kirban...what about bottle press gauge...this zex kit comes with a nmu which i think is almost idiot proff and also i was thinkign of runnign a window switch yes but humm which one for the zex kit...

and yes it is a rpm activated switch which in my case is good incase i miss a shift but the again i dont miss many ....but i do have a habit if shifting hard and fast so if i were to miss it qouls surely hit the rev limiter....humm what to do

Wet kit all the way...

Well dude, you have a pretty good start on things. For 1 it's a 91' and ya don't have to worry about your pistons cause they are forged.I have always run wet kits because to me they are alot more tunable and a wet kit does'nt jack your fuel pressure sky high from the vaccum line off the solenoid therefore not stressing your fuel pump as bad.Had a buddy of mine buy a dry kit and Dennis Lugo set it all up and dynoed it on and off the bottle. To me dry kits just don't hit as hard as wet.Well needless to say he sold the dry and got a wet kit from NOS.Same hp level setting but faster times.Don't know what the weather is like where you live but if you are up north and plan on running alot of bottles threw your stang then I would get a heater.Purge valve, well never used one I always run without the air tube hooked up and just bump the button a couple of times before I start car.Works for me but don't suggest it to everyone. If ya like to see a couple plumes of gas go up in the air and let everyone know what ya got then get it.Never used a nos gauge either. With 200 hp pills in mine I get about 4-5 full passes out of a 10lb bottle. You will know when it lays down its time to fill.As far as all the timing controls and retard boxes.Ahhhh just set base timing at 10* possibly 12* and go for it.I run 10* base with 200hp pills in with no problems but the occasional burnt sparkplug tip and for missing a gear and hurtin anything.I have had so many lean backfires and the only thing I have screwed up was that it would explode the air box into tiny little peices all over the track.Know for the kicker. You say your looking for mid 11's on the bottle then your gonna need to step up and get a cheater kit and run at least 250hp jets in it.But that is about all that small cube motor will ingest as far as the gas goes.

Good Luck and gas on

Dry kits that are tuned "safe" can't be as aggressive, because you are not supplying the fuel specific for what the nitrous requires. To make them "safe" you have to bump up fuel pressure across the board, and that isn't as tuneable as a wet kit's jetting. There is just more tuneability in a wet kit.

make sure you get a high amp alternater, with a elec. fan, and a bottle heater you'll need it,
A dry kit is the safe way. do not get the remote opener, waste of money.
NOS has a rpm control, I'd get that.
get the gauge you'll need it, to make sure you have enuff pressure

well actually i have alot more mods than i listed i was just trying to give the basics because i didnt want you all to suffer through a long post...i have
trick flow summit kit w/track heat valve trian
track heat intake
stage 1 cam
electric fan 140 amp alt
upper lower arms
subframes
373
bfg drag radials
76mm mass
70mm t.b
cai
under drives
lost Alot of weight to
30#inj
kirban afpr
255 h.p pump
e.q length headers
2.5 o/r h pipe
2.5 super turbo catback
new high vol oil pump
etc.....and alot more little things
in june i will eb dyno tunign it at kaufmanns

let me ask this then i chose the zex kit cause of the nmu what setup are you all running and some times.....what kits would you prefer...the car should go mid 12's at least this year on motor (i pray lol) so i dont really need it on the street i only play around sometimes on the back roads ....but ocassionally ill hit it mainly at first just to get a feel for it and practice but the nitrous will be a track only mostly thing....again sorry for the long post..i have a friend that will fill it for there cost so it isnt bad for me...

Well, N8's stang who used to post on here is the guy that turned me onto nitrous. I bought a used NX 50-150 wet kit along with the digital6 and window switch. I ended up selling it all to do the 418. But, back to N8, he was running 12's at around 107mph on motor. I was running around 109mph on motor. He went with a 150 shot and dropped down to 11.2's at 122mph  So I went nitrous, never used it, but now should run 125+ n/a :hail2:

Dont by a zex dry kit unless you know nothing of tuning. With the zex kit the amount of nitrous sprayed has to do with bottle pressure, IMO it is for somone who wants to be safe with out doing any research and not worried about makeing the most power. The heater is a must, you dont really need the gauge if you have a heater.

ok so im open to suggestions i am willing to tune but would like it to be some what simple at least to start.....im so for sure i will be getting
bottle heater
purge
window switch (use it with the wot)
switch panel

so what brand do you reccomend and really how is a wet kit much harder to install isnt it just a tap into the fuel line....

NOS wet kit

I would recommend NOS brand wet kit. They have been around a long time and that has to speak for itself. The wet kits are actually easier to install than a dry kit.You just tap into the fuel rail for your additional fuel and like the dry kit tap into your throtle body.I would start off with a fattened up shot at 125hp untill you get more comfortable with it.Run a few jet sizes bigger on your fuel side then what the manufacturer recommends. It's always better to be a little rich then a little too lean.Check your plugs often after each run and tune for the leanest cylinder.Your sparkplugs will tell you alot about whats going on.Learn to read them.

Hey stanggirl

been along time since I been over to the track at O-Town and I know things have changed quit a bit, alot of rice burners over there now.Just buttoning up the last few things on my stang.Hope to see you and Dennis at the track soon.I sure have missed those hard chargin cars of his.

peace

Well i had the Zex dry kit and had absolutely no problems at all. It didnt need tuning at all and really woke my motor up. The great thing about it is that its controlled by the tps voltage so it only sprays when your at full throttle. I missed a few shifts and never had a problem. It was easy to install and I know a lot of others running the zex 125 shot on bone stock stangs with the timing retarded and no problems at all. I havent had any expierience with other brands though so i guess im biased. If u do choose the Zex dry kit i am selling mine with a purge kit, bottle pressure gauge, and switch panel if your interested...

After a long off-season, I'm ready to get back behind the wheel! Dennis has a few new surprises coming out at the FFW Orlando event March 5th, so maybe we'll see ya there! ;)
