man, this thing rips and tears even with the 28" street tires. can't wait to get to the track at the end of the month. i didn't get much driving time yet with the new gears, but i went around town for a few minutes and i love the new gears. let's just hope i don't run out of gear at the track. if i do i guess i'll be buying a set of the new 27" ET Streets since i need new slicks anyway. just wanted to let you guys know.

i'm not exactly sure about rpms yet. it would help if my speedo worked. according a couple of calculators, with my 28" street tires i should be ~2450 rpm at 70mph. ~2100 rpm at 60. ~2050 rpm at 40 in 4th gear. won't be too bad on the highway at all. i should cross the line ~5600 rpm at 102 mph :D

2450 at 70mph?? with a 28 inch tire? If thats correct I gotta get me a set of those!!LOL,,,,Its gotta be a blast off the line :nice: Make sure you post your track times!!

Axeman your in the 12's. Cant even imagine 4.30's with a 5 speed. Congrats.

I need to convert to 5 lug get some Prostars. Hey Axeman do you drive thoses M/T streets on the streets? How are they in the rain if your not driving like a nut?

PURESTREET5006, what kind of traps speeds are you guys looking at? 120-125?

TrophyHead, i've driven them on the street before. not too many times and never in the rain. i've heard some bad stories after getting caught in the rain with them.

FiveOCapri79, you'll notice a difference, and personally i think it would be worth it. if you don't know how, learn to do it yourself and it doesn't cost much.

A 27" tire will make it even worse. The means more rotations per mile, a higher effective gear ratio.

Hey Trophyhead, I've driven around a lot with my ET's. They never really seem to hook much on the street from a stop, but from a roll, it's all good. Driving in the rain is something else though. I coast through a small water spot on the road and the back starts sliding. I've even lost traction in 4th gear at 30mph a few times. Just have to be extra careful when it's wet outside. :D
