4.6 3v vs. 2v and 4v

What are you guys, crack babies or something?

4V > 3V > 2V is the SAME THING as 2V < 3V < 4V !!!

> means "GREATER than", < means "LESS than" and I agree that the new 3V 4.6 will smoke an '04 2V GT but probably won't quite run with an '02 4V Cobra. Weight could be an issue. Are these things going to be as heavy as they look?

Numbers released so far (the ones I've seen) have been "engineer's projections". If they think it's too much power for whatever reason, emissions, insurance, reliability, etc. then it'll be toned down. 3v engines just seem odd to me, not as wierd as 5v'ers but still odd.

i didn't know they made cobras in 02.............................:p

I would bet the new gt will smoke an 01 cobra stock vs stock. unless ford screwed something up. I drove an 01 cobra when I was looking for a mustang. if you notice it is not in my sig. 33k vs 22k and if felt a bit faster but not he night and day I was expecting. so unless I drove a dud or someting edge could go to the 3v. I think they would at least be =. now the mach 1 on the other had it pulls great and had less hp than the cobra I dove.

I edited my post pal ;) I had 2V > 3V > 4V :bang:

For example. a 96-98 cobra 4V has more horsepower than the 99+ GT's, but the GT's have more torque and its lower in the power band. Thats why they run similar 1/4 times because the GT pulls harder down low and the 4v catches up and keeps pulling. From what I have seen the 05 GT's will run high 13's which is the same as the previous GT's but at a higher trap speed, same times due to the weight. I'm assuming that the threevalve should be in between the 2v and 4v as far as pulling power, but many think that the 3v will pull harder than the 4v becaue it should be putting out more torque. Any input?

Also if the 3v's peek hp at 6000rpm why is the rev limit at 6250 the same as the GT's now?

If you're talking 99-01 cobra 4v, then yes, the 3v might be able to pull just as hard until really high RPM's, where the 4v will pull ahead. But if you are talking 03-04 mach 1 4v, I doubt the 3v GT will hang with it at all. Now if you are taking 03-04 cobra 4v.....well that's obvious.
