Hey,

I am a first time Cobra owner, and am planning on switching the stock shifter out for a perfromance aftermarket one. I am leaning toward the Pro 5.0 Power Tower, but still am considering the Steeda Tri-Ax. Any opinions or complaints on either?

thanks

Haha, I was just about to start the same thread....I noticed that the tri-ax is taller and leans in toward the driver more, while the pro 50 has a shorter more rugged look....Im dying to get rid of my donkey d*** shifter.

Thanks guys,

I hope to get all of my mods(4:30 gear, pullies, h pipe, shifter) installed by this summer. So I am taking my time to research and look for the right parts, I can't stand blowing a fortune on crappy ass parts. I have heard great things about both shifters, my friend installed a pro 5.0 on his 98 GT when he bought it new and really liked it.

I own a Tri-Ax, and have driven with a Pro-5.0.

I would say the base of the Pro-5.0 is better than the Tri-Ax, enough that I regret not getting one.

The Tri-Ax handle has a better angle hanle than the Pro-5.0 IMO, but I think both suck when compared to the MGW shifter handle, that thing is just BadA$$, I love mine...http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang_shift_handle.html its customizable in angle, tallness and tilt. I love their composite shifter also.

I recommend a Pro 5.0 with a MGW Shifter handle and Composite shift knob

I will sell you my pro 5.0 for cheap! it is for a 3650 trans. I only had it installed for a week. I really didnt care for the way it felt. E mail me [email protected]

Hmmm, no sales in the forums.

On that note, I have the 5.0 and love it. It is awesome. I bought mine used and it has not skipped a beat at all!

Secondly, if it is ever needing of work to it you can send it back to get rebuilt at there cost if it is a manufacturing problem. If it is yours, well they will do it at the time i called for 50 bucks. Definetly worth it.
