OK, I have found a nice '99 Cobra here. BUT, it has 80k miles on it... The "fix" was done and everything else looks great. Is this car something to look further into or am I insane for getting into an 80,000 mile Cobra?
What do you plan to do with it? If it's just a cruiser that you want to fix up a little, $14,000 is not too bad. But if you plan to hop it up and run it pretty hard, it's really up to you. I personally wouldnt do it cuz I drive mine alot and run it pretty hard, ALL THE TIME!!!! As long as you take care of it and treat it good, maybe you can pull it off.
Well, obviously this is going to be driven pretty hard on close to a daily basis. How long do you say the clutch etc have left to go? How many miles is the engine good for? I get SPEC clutches wholesale so I could do that pretty cheap....
I just bought a 97 with 96000 miles on it. It is awesome, still mostly stock. Have you driven it yet? a lot of people say make sure and get the rpm's way up there, to make sure everything runs right, and sounds ok. And to power shift 1 to 2, to make sure it shifts good. I payed 10500 for mine, it was the only around here for sale. I made sure and had a mechanic friend of mine who has a 96 cobra check it out. Of course I planned to replace a lot of stuff from the beginning. I would say if you want it get it. Just go over it I missed a faded paint spot on my passenger door, but you wouldn't even notice it, if I flew by somebody going 75 in second. Engine and exhaust sound good luck!
