Man, I've been debating this question ever since before I got this car!! I initially started out wanting an 03 but had to settle for an 01. Do you think it's worth trading it in? I really heard good things about the 6-speed compared to the 5-speed and it also has the nice supercharger. I want to supercharge my 01 but the 03 is all set up for it with the blower pistons. My 01 is pushing 40k miles so I dont know if I should risk supercharging it. It would have over 50k by the time I put a blower on it. Also, Ive been looking at everyone's mods and it looks like you dont have to do much to an 03 the get the numbers up to 400-450hp. The only bad thing is that, what am i gonna do with all the mods I already have? Any suggestions? :bang:

The '01 is a fine car to have to "settle" with. I loved mine but I did end up trading it in on a '04 a little over a week ago. The Mystichrome option along with the deal I got was enough for me to do the trade.

It all depends on what is most important to you. Like you said the '03 is built for boost, but you can get respectable #'s on a safe tune on your '01 also.

On my deal I got 2K over KBB trade in value for my car & the '04 for under MSRP. If I wanted a left over '03 I could of gotten a way beter deal, but for me it was the MystiChrome or nothing, I'd just keep my '01. They finally agreed to my price & I got it.

On my '01 I kept my X pipe & catback for possible future use, & kept the C&L, gonna sell it. I left the gears, pullies, STB, springs, shacks, struts, etc, etc. I'm not a mechanic so that stuff went with the car. If you can pull most of your stuff you might as well, dealer won't really allow anything for them. On my deal that was the one # they stayed firm on, the price for my trade in.

If you have the need for even more power, I think the 03 is the only way to go. I've contemplated it, but I do like the overall styling of my 01 and the color and the fact that I got the 0% financing. Because of the latter, I have hardly ever been in negative equity with this car.
If I were younger and single I might would be ready to sign on the line for a 03/04, but along with my truck payment, I feel that I have an obligation to my wife and kid (wouldn't have it any other way) to think more about more practical things than an extra 100rwhp. I'm much closer to having the title to my "quick enough" 01 so I guess I'll be leaving the blown Cobras for those who can justify it.
If you can swing the 2003, that's probably the car for you.
