A couple of newbie questions?
Hello guys, I am kind new to the mustang. I do follow the forums regular. I had to sell my custom lightning but picked up a new gt in october 03. I have done some mods to it now.
The question I have is a friend gave me a g-tech meter he had and never used, still new in the box. I took it out and did my first quarter mile run.
I ran a 13.87 at 111.00. I know the mph is supposed to be way off. Now is the quarter mile pretty close for my mods, or is that way off too?
Also how much hp should I be putting down?
Not sure what my next mod should be either!
Sorry for all the questions just kind of curios and you guys seem really helpful.
thanks
David

Check my Sig, I ran 13.85 with my Mods.

the gtech is suposed to be withing .2 on the 1/4 and the mph are always higher becuase they take the mph at the end of the run while at the track the mph is averged over the last like 100 ft i think

The gtech is not a set in stone 100% on your 1/4 times......
I would not use it to judge times however it is very good at measuring improvements in your car...
Find a long straight stretch that is PERFECTLY FLAT or as flat as possible and it will be close.
The best thing to do is get about 3 runs in each direction and average them to give you a general idea.... then when you do a mod you can go back and repeat the same procedure and see if there is a gain.
for more info goto www.gtechpro.com and goto the forums or do a search for GTech with my name as the poster.

great post :nice:

I believe the numbers are close, I've ran alot of 13.90's at the track and with the g-tech.... also i have'nt hit the dyno yet but my average hp/trq numbers seem almost right for my mods...its usually between 237-245 hp and 285-95 trq... 4.9- 5.0ish
0-60 mph times.... seems close??????? Anyway I bought it more for fun than to take seriously... I mean cmon it looks badass at night, the shift light is pretty cool too...

yeah, i figured if I was going to spend $80 on a raptor shift light, I'd just put it into a new Gtech competition :D
