Dash aftermarket speaker on 88 too deep, what am I to do!

When I had my 91, I didn't really think it was worth it to replace the 3 1/2" speaker in the dash. I'm not sure about the older ones, but the 91's had openings in the doors for 6 1/2" speakers, so I just spliced some wire in at the dash and ran it through the door and put the bigger ones in. I know that wasn't what you were asking for, but if you can't figure out how to put the dash ones in, this might be another option.

i put some in my 92 kinda had the same problem i just screwed them in the best i could and the grill fit over them so i left them. i guess u could cut the duct and them slap some duct tape on it. I also thought of trying to heat it up enough to make it soft and reform it a lil. hope this helps

I replaced ever freaking speaker in my car. I even fit 6x9's in the back of my vert.
Just start chopping away the frame of the speaker hole. Be creative and it will fit. Also if the vent is in the way-you will need to take of the glove box and remove the vent-just plug it up with tape-no biggie.
