I'm taking my snake to the track for the first time this weekend. Just wondering what the best rpm would be to launch at, or are any of you guys launching from idle? I've heard 2000rpm would be a good launch point for 03 cobras. What works for ya'll????????

Stock F1 tires? Stock suspension?

1. Go around the waterbox. I repeat, GO AROUND THE WATERBOX. Doing a big smokey burnout on Goodyear F1's only makes them greasy.
2. Before staging perform just a small dry burout to clean any rocks or dirt off of the F1's. Just rev it a little an pop the clutch. You only need to turn the tires over a few times to clean them.
3. Once you stage and the light goes green, leave the line JUST LIKE YOU WERE LEAVING A STOPLIGHT ON THE STREET. Don't worry about reaction times or red lights. The hardest part is getting this 3800lbs+ beast out of the hole without wheel hop. Ease out of the hole and as soon as the clutch is fully released start adding in throttle. If the back end starts hopping, GET OUT OF THE GAS IMMEADIATELY! You don't want to break a half-shaft.

You're not going to get sub 2 second 60 foot times by dropping the clutch on your stock Goodyears with stock suspension. I was able to get a 1.9 sec 60' time using this method with the stock F1's and suspension.
