Bullit Brakes

Brakes are like the last thing people do to their cars. Brakes however are very important. The disk on the bullitts are the same as a GT the calipers im not sure, when time comes I ll put on baer slotted and cross drilled rotars and Baer calipers.

Our brakes are desent but it doesnt hurt to upgrade them too right?

Are you sure the Rotors are the same, because I KNOW that the Calipers are not the same as the typical GT. Could be, but I wouldn't think so. Anyway, the stock V6 and GT calipers (yes, they are the same) are actually BIGGER than teh Cobra/Bullitt ones but they just clamp smaller rotors or at least from a closer distance which means less tq is applied by the caliper in order to slow the wheel. Just like when you are a kid and you keep trying to break the same stick in half over and over again and it gets harder and harder because you are closer and closer to the middle of the stick meaning you are applying less tq (TQ= Force x Distance). Basically, thought the caliper is actually smaller it is more efficient at braking AND it looks sweet as crap, too. I say buy em and set your mustang apart from the typical i/e/p/wheels crowd. Oh, and you HAVE to have 17" wheels at least just incase you dont. Good Luck.

I might be wrong but I think that the Bullit Brake Kit is the same as cobra brakes. So, you need to have at least 17" wheels to fit the calipers. They should even work better than they do on the cobra or Bullit because the v6 weighs less. Also, I'm pretty sure that the GT brakes systems are exactly the same as our v6 brakes.

The Bullits are NOT the same size or anything as the GT. They are 13" rotors and larger calipers.

I did the upgrade and can't tell a damn difference in terms of stopping power. However..they look bad ass.

Well, acording to some of the guys in the 4.6 forum, the Bullitt Caliper Surface area are actually SMALLER than the ones on the V6/GT because they were trying to make a kit to change them to 13" because they would be theoretically be better than the Bullitt's. It was a while ago that I read this, but if you think about it, our calipers ARE pretty big, they just grip smaller rotors. I'm sure if you search you could find it. Oh, and your brakes look sweet :nice:
