Man, I almost got rearended the other day cuz of my stupid traction control.

The roads were dry and I'm pulling out of my development, when I notice that the car that I'm pulling in front of is coming faster than I thought...so I hit the gas. Next thing I know, I feel like some one hooked a wench my car and is reeling me backwards.

Now the car is right up my ass....lo and behold the stupid green wheel comes on my dashboard....I hate it when I forget to turn it off!!!

Tell me about it !
I swear if My T/C ever caused a Crash I'd sew Ford!
I've come close once before when On the on ramp when a semi was tring to get off and I was tring to get on the ramp and I nailed it so I could get out of his way when BAMB the T/C came on and He BLEW his HORN at me so loud I couldn't hear right for a day or so!!!
He was pissed But I lived to tell another Green wheel light killer !!

I was complaining about this on another site. I was told it's possible to program it so that its off by default and you can turn it on. Haven't tried it, so I can't validate the claim.

I was also told that if you turn it off alot the bulb burns out and then your really screwed!

FEAR THE GREEN WHEEL!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate it~~~~ some kid in a stock civic thinks he :owned: me the other day cause he gunned it from the light and I decided that i should show him what was up..... and then the gren wheel of death came on!!!! oh well... stupid wheel!!!

yeah it sucks, I've had some cars up on me real quick when turning off of my parents dirt road. As soon as I hook up I take off but you have to hate watching that rear view.

I hate traction controll too!!! I was gettin on the freeway one day and my car just started shuttering and stumbling and sliding back and forth it was wet outside also. well i was like WTF and i look down and there it is the GREEEN KILLER i was lucky no one was behind me. But i did go to the track one day and forgot to turn it off but it neva came on???? go figure!!!!

i almost drove into a lagoon once because of stupid traction control. i was going around a turn and it kicked in out of no where i wasn't even accelerating hard and i spin sideways in a 90 degree angel i just about 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me' my self ever since then ive turned traction control off as a habit when i start my car

I hate it even in snow. When you pull out and it feels you slipping, which will happen in even a little snow, it robs power and leaves you stranded in the middle of an intersection. I turn it off and do much better with a little slipping and driving through it.

TCS is no excuse for a civic to beat you, I ran a 14.8 when I accidently left the TCS on the first time I went to the track. I don't think its that bad...then again I live in hte North West for the half of the year that it rains there. Its saved my ass a few times. Also I don't see how trackion control could have caused your car to spin out, it does just the opposite, I notice that if I am making a left hand turn at a light or something and I hit it too hard, the TCS simply straightens me out. The cars we drive have a lot of power, and I think that if Ford haden't included TCS, there would be a lot more crash stories on this site. It makes a muscle car street drivable under any conditions. I do understand what you guys are saying about losing the power at the wrong time but thats why there is a button to turn it off. Ford should have just programmed the stock computer to remember whether the TCS was on or off the last time the car was driven.

they should have made it to where TC is off and you turn it on. :nonono:

Also TC off when it rains = fun when theres no cars around. I was coming up into a 90* bend/turn and before I took it I turned off traction control and gave it some gas. My ass went sideways and went inside a gas station! It was fun but I was also lucky I didnt hit the sidewalk. I just played it off as I was goin into the gas station. Got back into the road... give it some more gas ass shakes a little, let off and give it more gas and the ass shakes more. Fun times! :D

I know... he took off before me, and when i hit the gas the TCS came on and stayed on..lol So at that point I let off the gas and just drove normal.... I know I made it look bad for the stang.. So yeah Icoulda just got back on it and killed him but i didnt.... Thats why i said he THINKS he owned me... And I do agree with you about it being benifical to us to have it on our cars... Saved my butt a few times in the rain and snow on the freeway , just Its always on when i dont want it to be!!!(like when i forget to turn it off...) :bang:
Later
