My Accufab 75mm TB came today from Mr. Ronnie Diaz http://www.rdmrdm.com

Wow, it's beautiful!! I kinda wish I had the Accufab plenum instead of my unpolished C&L plenum. It really is gorgeous.

I couldn't get the TPS sensor bolts off  So we're going to try Dremel'ing them with slits so we can use a bigger screw driver. The sensor is only $22 at AutoZone in case anything happens :nice:

And before people say to just buy a new one outright, I'd rather save $22 by trying to get it off and breaking it than just spending $22 outright :D

Hey JonJon,
I talked to Ronnie yesterday..what a guy :nice:
I am looking at getting the throttle body and plenum next month if I don't get the 4.10s instead. Are you going to dyno for your results?
I can't wait to hear how the car feels now with those 2 mods.

Yeah, Ronnie's a great source for info :nice:

I'd get 4.10's if I were you... I woulda got them except I didn't have the funds, couldn't find a decent install price, it's been winter, and my tires suck. I didn't notice anything fron my plenum alone (I bought it 5 months ago). I do plan on getting dyno'd very soon, once my friend gets his schedule worked out so we can go :)

Thanks man, that's what I suspected. It will have to be the gears then.
THanks bro :nice:

The bottom screw on my TPS didn't want to come out either. I finally got it out with the right screw driver. Maybe ford cross threaded it at assembly.

If your going to check the voltage on the TPS, I stuck needles behind the connector and check it there. The voltage on the bottom two pins on my car read 0.992 volts before and after the accufab.

Do any of you know if the inside of the plastic TPS housing is threaded? And the bolt is only threaded on the throttle body?

EDIT : nevermind, we're giving up. we cut slits to use a bigger screw driver (with a ratchet in fact) but the amount of torque we put on it apparently isn't enough to break the solder they used to weld the screw on

we tried this:
http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/mwtb.htm

oh
first we tried 1 slit and tried with a big ass flat head. no success. so we tried with a phillips on the other screw. no success.

i think i need 302 lbs/ft torque to get them off
we tried to drill down the center but the bit my friend has for his dremel kit wasn't good enough.
too much work, have a paper to write. he said he'll try to cut it off once he gets off of work.

the pics look worse than they are, they -used- to not be rounded until we used 200000 lbs/ft torque and rounded them. :(
TPS screws > us

Sorry JonJon but I am LMAO seeing those pics! :rlaugh: Hope you get that POS off. I can't believe what a pain yours is being. Mine came of pretty simple.
 the pics are the horrible aftermath. they used to be clean cuts but after practically taking a chair to the TPS.

Mine were hard also..

Contact Randy Stinchcomb on Modular Depot for a new TPS. He shot me a GREAT price!
It's only $22 at AutoZone so I don't mind. I think people quoted Ford charging $50 though??? Thanks :)

hey man, you won't need to buy a new TPS. It is not threaded on the plastic. I couldn't get mine off either. Your new TB should have 2 new screws, right? Anyways, get a drill and a drill bit that is big enough not to slip inside the slots on the head of the screw. Drill straight into the head of he screw and it will snap the head right off, then slide the TPS off and get some vice grips remove the remaining part of the screw from the stock TB. Simple to do.

I just found out it wasn't threaded since I picked up a new TPS. The AutoZone guy lied, it was $32.
But once my roomate gets off work we'll get the screws out, it's just a matter of time :D

I hope it still works after the way we've manhandled it
