leaning towards K Bell, stock internals ok ?

My
question is are the stock internals strong enough to handle the
everyday beating the engine is now going to be taking.
You'll be fine. I along with many others made 440 rwhp with stock internals and 10 psi for almost a year and 10k miles with no issues at all. And as a few that are here can vouch for me I DRIVE my car, if you know what I mean. You'll be fine and I agree with others...........get a good tune. Good luck:)

So have I. I've also seen one let go at 320 rwhp. What I'm saying is that there is no magic number in terms of how much these internals can take. Your obviously taking a higher risk as you increase your power level but you just can't say that it'll blow at 350 or 400 or any # you want to type. Ask Brian Bradford how long his stock block lasted with 600 rwhp running mid 10s.....................hundreds of passes.:)

How about this for an answer...
No..

How about you get a KB first and then you can make judgement against it.

Dr. WU, you will be fine with the KB, trust me, you will not want to beat your car like you do now, you can do the same damage as now with less throttle. I'm still getting used to mine, so I try to drive it easy.......

I would think the 9psi intercooled kit would be safe at around 400rwhp on a stock block, with a safe tune. Anymore psi or power, and you taking a big chance.
You can also increase the boost, but you will need to use 100+ octane gas to avoid detonation. I'm ordering th 10 psi pulley to use it along with 100 octane at the track only. That should put me on the 440 rwhp. :hail2:

deadlurker is running 398rwhp and 370ish rwtq on the stock block... tuned by T&J.... its all about the TUNE.

Its about luck and tune.. And how many miles does Deadlurker have on that motor with the blower? Probably under 15k im sure. Regardless of the tune, when dealing with forced induction on motors that were not made for it, it is always risky and does decrease the longetivity of a motor. Anyone that disputes hasn't been around much. My dad runs a hi-performance shop and I've never seen a 4.6 mod motor with stock internals last for more then 50k miles on the motor..

Get some hot weather, full boost and some not so good gas etc etc..

How about this you don't know jack...we're the guys that know!

This is comming from a guy with a stock stang with turndowns?
PuuuuLLLLLEEEAAASSEEEEE.......

If the gyt is JUST worrying avbout the block.. No Prob..

If he is wondering about whats IN the block....

No...

And but the way, your mama thinks I know Alot....{smile}

How can you "Be Fine" but not "Beat on it"?

Jesus, its a mustang for gods sake..
Why would you put a blower on soimething to "Take it easy"...

You should have spent the $ you did on that Pimpy paint job and body kit on internals...

Why didnt you go with the KB set up big daddy?

Prob. because thay are not the most ideal setup for your stock engine {easier on the motor}...

The boost builds on your current setup, on the K.B. its just there{harder on motor}...

Anyday you want to find out what I know, come on down To Reynolds, and for $1,500, you can find out who your daddy is..

Yea he has been in one to see how it is...i've also been in a KB'd stang and even compared to roots lower rpm boost it blows everything away. You need to find someone in your area that has one and try it out for yourself!

Fuel economy isn't going to go down btw ;)

You talked about short shifting...yes when you short shift you are not into the throttle. In my daily driving i shift at about 2200-2300 rpms...i would not see any boost as i would be not on the throttle much at all. Now if i want to I can take it all the way down on the freeway when im only pushing 1600 rpms etc. or from a stop light without raising my rpms. Thats the only way your going to be into boost when a centrifugal isn't. 'Building' boost over time isnt' necessarily going be easier on your powertrain either. Your people power is most likely what is going to kill your motor.

The simple fact is your grasping for straws and you can't really find anything and your trying to compare a roots (non efficient, hottest) supercharger on the market to the best most efficient highest power output from low to high rpm supercharger (twin screw).

Yeah ok my car's stock...since when did they start coming w/ vortechs running 10lbs of boooost? Wow you got a .20 over bore and some internals and your to much of a puss to turn your boost up...if i had that w/ the intercooler minimum i'd run would be 12-14.

Oh and by the way 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me', IM RICK JAMES BITCH
