:nonono: Oooooh, so now the vortech is putting out more power then a Kenne Bell huh?? You might want to read up a little more on the subject. Just my .02

There is not a Kenne Bell Blower on EARTH than put out the cfm of a Cent. Blower...

How many Kenne Bells are in Pro mod?

How many racers use them?

thats what I thought...

P.S. And dont refer me to the Johnny Lightning site..
I was quoting bllower to blower, Check out the ATI Kit for the new Cobra, versus the Kenne Bell...

Cant we all just get along..

You are just full of it. There are two mustang KB blowers. The one that goes on the cobra is capable of upwards of 27-30 psi of boost and has a displacement of 2.2L. The one for the GT's is a 1.7L blower. It is capable of about 20 psi boost. Thats equivalent of a s-trim and t-trim respectively. Do you even know what your talking about? An s-trim loses steam at 20 psi just like a 1.7L KB. PLUS you really dont need all that extra boost to make the power with the twin screw.

Dont be sorry you started the thread...be sorry that there are people that consistantly bash something for a bunch of myths and falsehoods that someone told him.

'can't we all just get along'

SURE as soon as you start posting facts we'll stop arguing with you.

Yea for real , I have a vortech and I love it , but I know both types of blowers have there advantages and disadvantages , I say to anyone that wants a KB , go for it , no matter what you decide , power is power , dont matter if you make it from a briggs and stratton .

I have experianced both types of blowers. (Built bottom end no heads).
Vortech/cooler #15 boost 441RWH. (12.2 @ 115 @ 389RWH)What a kick. Easy to race at the track. Rev her up, slam the gas, pop the clutch and hang on for the ride. You could make many mistakes at launch and still reach 115 mph... Problem: took a while to build up HP, (even with 4:10's). If I want a kick around the street had to take it up to the limit. Not much room in engine bay. Air filter almost touching the ground (AF powerpipe). Always worried about rain. Had to reach upper RPM ranges to get all you can .

KB 14psi . Initial tune around 430 RWH/ 450 TQ. (8 degrees of timing down low) around 16 up high. Much more room. Had 255 on back. Now have 295/18 BFG DR. Time to kick up the volume.
What a kick also. Completly different feel. To get a feel of power slam the gas, instant HP/TQ (need a chiropractor). Talk about the thrill... Only need a second to get a kick. I expect it will be more difficult at the track. If I slam the gas I could slip and slide all the way down. May have to learn how to drive. Once a get a good tune (planing street/Track(race fuel / octane boost)). Expect to get around 470 around the street and 500+ at the track.
Want to try out 4:10's at the track first before I switch back to 3:73.
BTW got my engine bay back, no rain worries, looks cleaner than vortech.

I like the looks , feel and sound (like a 747) of the KB much more than the Vortech. I don't have to rev engine to the limit (6k close to the end with KB).

It all depends what your objectives are. Both have their good points. You will have fun no matter which one you choose.

MY .02. run the 9psi kit. have t&j put a conservative tune on it. something that will make say 375 hp or so. don't spend the extra money upgrading other stuff to make more power.

as for not beating on it. any idiot can break a car. even stock a car is not bullit proof if you are a dumbass. knowing you cars limitations is not being a "pu#ssy".

So the KB for the 4.6 can get up to 20 psi??? i thought it was only good for about 15 or 16??

A few of us have contacted them via email and on the forums they have members on. There response has always been with crank pulleys you can get up to 20 psi before the blower will lose steam up top. People have gotten 27 psi out of the 2.2L already and it hasnt' run out of steam. Its very difficult to push more than 20 psi safely on a 4.6 SOHC without some extremely low compression ratios & race gas.
