when i get gears this summer it only makes sense for me to get some drag radials to throw on my 10 holes...problem is my car is mostly a street car....what is the best drag radial to get if im gonna be driving mostly on the street from june-aug....how long will DRs hold up on the street, or is it just a waste of money to do this.....what are best radials to put on 10 holes with a 3.73 ratio??

my cousin has 4 30s in his cobra and hes running nitto 555rs and theyre rated at like 20,000 i think im have almost the same setup as you and im going to go with bfgoodrich g force t/a dr. mm&ff did a test on some ET streets and the bfs and they said that the bfs were very worth on the track and street. they used a 275/50/15 on the ten holes and they were MEAN.

i have nitto 555r's and they have been on about 5k miles and are holding up great...i used to have some bfg dr and they were about done when i got them as freebies but in the rain they were scary....

i think as long as you keep tread on them you are okay...rule of thumb seems to be nittos good on street and last better and decent on track....bfg dr okay on street, wear fast and good at track

If its just for the street, drag radials are kinda expensive. Those aformentioned Nittos will run you well over $100 a piece. For the street i just use BFG Radial TA's. They come in tons of sizes, are cheap, and seem pretty decent for everyday driving. Now for the track i plan on getting a spare set of draglites and getting some ET streets. But its up to you, if you want the extra traction for the street, get the DR's. Not sure if the 275's will fit on 10 holes, but BFG makes a 235 i think. Check Summit. :nice:

i kept that issue for just the #s. it helped to decide my choice. There was only a .01 difference between the BFGs and the MTs---surprised me! i know the BFGs are supposed to be amazing, but i have to get atleast a full year out of them. i will probably go NItto.
check the "reviews"section, both nitto and bfg are reviewed.

BFG DR's = more traction
Nitto DR''s = more life and drivability

I got Nitto 555R DR's recently. It was a night and day difference in traction, and handles fine also. My car is not my daily driver but my fun car. I was going to get the BFG's but my buddy had the BFG DR's on the back of his Camaro, and yes they stuck like glue, they have a softer rubber compound than the Nitto's, so they stick better but wear faster. Another problem he had with the BFG's were not only did they stick everything on the road to them, but he had rocks go into the rubber and cause a leak. They only lasted 3500miles.

I wonder what the MT DR's are going to be like. From the pics, they look almost completly slick, and I am sure they will have a soft compound. I am guessing they will be made for the class restricted racing.

Interesting to hear you say that, I picked up 6 nails & screws in my last DR's (Nitto's) and finelly couldn't plug them anymore.
They are still sitting in my driveway with 50% tread left on them. I wondered if I was the only one who experianced this.

I wasn't talking about nails, screws or any sharp objects, but just normal blunt gravel rocks the you run over almost every day. When the rubber got hot, you could almost push something in it. However, I am sure nails and such would stick more to the Nitto's and find the sharp end to puncture. Take the plugs out and patch the tires from the inside if they are worth it.

What issue was that again? Want to read the article again.
