Subframes on a vert?

Subframes

I have KB on my 2000 'vert and am well pleased with them. The car came with subframe connectors from the factory but they were really cheesey. I noticed a nice improvment in the way the car feels when driving. I also recommend strut tower braces for anybody with a convertible.

Full Length Subframe Connectors

full lengths or nothing

I recently had Steeda full length subframe connectors welded to my 2001 GT Vert. It really strengthened the underbody. When I hit potholes now, my interior doesn't rattle. I plan to install a Steeda strut tower brace next week. I may then order the Steeda 4-point rollbar.

'03 'vert -- I went with Kenny Brown subframes and jacking rails so I could also use their diagonal braces (can't remember the trade name) which connect and triangulate the subs with the jacking rails. Noticable stiffness improvement, plus I can now put a jack under the car just about any place that's convenient. Maybe overkill for a pure street car, but better over than under in my book :)

i have the kb super subs and i was thinking about the jacking rails and extreme matrix cross brace. i had the subs welded in, but i'm not sure if the jacking rails and cross brace could just be bolted till i find someone to weld for me. did u have them welded? or can you bolt them for now and have them welded later?

I had mine welded at the same time when the subs went in. Not sure about whether bolting is reasonably feasible, but let's put it this way: I wouldn't bolt them in, as there's a lot of floorpan to be spanned/supported, and I'd want to make sure the load is well spread out over several welds rather than concentrated at a couple bolts.

thanks, i guess i'll just wait till i find someone that can weld before i get the other components.
