Trying to decide on which tire to get for my 01 Cobra? Any opinions?
I want something that will be good for corner carving, and excellent traction for the drag strip.

1. BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KD

2. Nitto 555R

3. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar

4. Toyo Proxies T1S

Thanks,

I would have to go with the BFG KDs myself. I know a couple people who have them and love them. And we are not talking guys with stock 97 GTs either, they are puttin' some power to the ground.

I would go with 555R's in back and one of the other tires in front if you intend to do and drag racing with it. KD's are good, but so are the new Kumho Ecsta MX's and Goodyear Eagle GS-D3 are supposed to be very close in dry weather with a big advantage in the rain. It all depends on what you want to do.

These tires would not be used in the rain... tire wear is no concern, and money is no concern. I am just trying to find a really good tire that will perform awesome in the corners, and in the 1/4.

I totally don't wanna highjack your thread or anything, I just wanted to get some additional information. To add to this I was looking at the Nitto site and they have a bunch of different 555's which ones are the best for street with a bit of strip. And for sizes I know the '03 Cobra uses 275s all around, is 275 a little big on the front? I've heard people talk about tracking (what is it?!) with tires that big on the front. What size would be good for the front if 275 isn't the ideal. Any advice would be awesome!

Tracking is when the fronts tire follow grooves in the road. I never had much of a problem with it on the cars I've driven that did it but I don't think it's too good for tire wear, I may be wrong though.

Goodyears: I wouldnt buy them mainly due to the price. Although you might get a bit more mileage out of them, your going to be paying a tremendous amount more for them over the other tires. The price difference will most likely not make up for the difference between the two tires.

Toyo tires: Ive never used them and dont think Ive ever even heard of them.

BFGoodrich KD's: Never used them but I am familiar with BFG. My brother has the BFGoodrich KDWS on his car right now. Their holding up just fine. I think for dry traction, theese would be a good tire.

Nitto 555 R's: Never used them but heard good things in terms of dry traction. They are a drag radial and can be used at the track. If you plan on seeing lots of track time, theese are the tires you want. However, dont expect but about 10-12k miles out of the set of tires. 15k if your lucky.
