the noise happens when i put the car in 1st and let the clutch out. at around 1200 rpm there is this grinding coming from the tranny until about 1400 rpm. then it does it again when the clutch is out in 2nd. even if i'm in second and slow down to around 900-1000 rpm it will make the grinding noise till about 1300 rpm. really wierd, and it only happens in 1st and 2nd. anyone have any ideas?

haha... dont drive that low on the rpms!!!! you are bogging it and every stick car I have driven grinds liek that when you do it

question is, what mods or problems do you have that kill your bottom like that? your car is acting like you have a cam :rlaugh:

or could be some bearing in the clutch assembly input shaft bearing or something

Tranny

Sounds like a throwout bearing because my friend had the same
problem with his 95 GT! He would shift at about 30mph from 1st
to 2nd to 3rd and would not stop the shift in 2nd only 3rd because
he would grind at lower rpms in 2nd so,he skipped 2nd and just shifted
3rd instead it worked also with no grinding at all but, only if he shifted
into 2nd. I'm willing to bet your throwout bearing/throwout bearing
retainer or whole clutch needs to be replaced.
