It sounds like you need brakes above the current Bullitt/ Cobra upgrade. The best thing likely is the Cobra R brake upgrade which uses a 4-piston Brembo kit. That is supposed to be a real nice unit that is track worthy. I am not at all the biggest expert, but I have been doing some reserching on brakes recently...

03 Sleeper, Its my understanding that you can go with the Cobra/Bullitt upgrade kit with the 13" rotors and the twin-piston calipers (kit runs for 599 at i think its diskbrakesrus.com - not sure reply to this if you want the link- its at home) This doesnt shorten the braking distance but does prevent fade.

Or you can go with the Brembo kit with the 13" rotors and the heavy duty 4 piston calipers, i think the kit is around 1,300-1,500 bucks.

Those are two options that are right around your price range. The Baer and Alcon/Rousch kits have like 6 piston calipers and the kit alone is like 3,000 plus I believe. I have been looking into this myself, so hope this helps :nice:
