Line Lock tech - I Dont understand!

Looking at the instructions for my hurst line lock, it appears to me that you are only getting the right front wheel to lock up. Looking at the SLP Kit it looks like the same thing for theres, so heres my question. Is that right? Just reading the directions, it looks like it only locks 1 wheel! This cant be right is it?

No it locks both front brakes. I installed mine at the traction control module (behind radiator - pass. side). Take a look at my home page - there are a couple pics of mine that *might* help a little.

No they both lock up. The Hurst instructions suck. And they also tell you that you can't use it with the Bosch ABS unit, which you have. I have the Hurst unit, and it works great. Joe Lynch over on the Corral has a great how to article page that gives you every step you need to do. Go over to the Corral and do a search and it pops up.

Dale, I believe you're reading it right. I have a 2001. and after going shop to shop, i was told I needed 2 line locs, one for each front tire. be cause of the Bosch break system and traction control, there is no other option. not sure about the 2000 break systems. and starkie, do you have a 01? if it's possible on a 01 to lock up both front wheels, I might get mine installed, I still have mine, I've had it for almost 2 years now with now use.

I am going to be installing mine tommarrow and I plan on installing at the master cylinder. I heard it works the same as if you install it on the ABS block. Plus the install should be alot easier.

I actually have a question about the hurst roll controll. I actually just ordered one yesturday. When you engage the roll controll do you have to keep your finger on the button and when you release the front brakes dis engage or push the button once after hitting the brake pedal and push the button again to dis engage?

Since what you're doing is energizing the solenoid, it all depends on the type of switch you want to install. Most of the kits come with an on/off push button, so you push it and it's on and push it again to turn it off.

I used a micro toggle switch because I like to know that if the switch is in the down position the line lock is definitely off. MPCV2000 (Martin) actually wired his into his defroster button (disabling the defroster) - when the line lock is activated the light comes on.

I wired mine into the fog light switch, since I took the foglights out. So mine comes on when you push the button, and you have to push the button again to turn it off. But whats nice is the light is on when the loc is on, and off when its not.

Don't worry, it will work properly. Follow the instructions on joe lynch's page. I installed a biondo unit from summit on my car. Works like a charm.

Great. Im gonna be installing mine tomorrow as well. The hurst directions are exactly the same as what everyone has done in their pictures, but the way it looks, it seems like it will only lock 1 wheel. Thanks a bunch all.

i should be receiving my hurst line lock kit today. i also ordered the install kit and the adapter kit. i am going to attempt to install this my self and i am a little nervous about it. i've been searching and i downloaded joe lynch's instructions and the instructions from mm&ff titled controlling roll. i ordered a b&m t handle with a button for the thumb because i don't want to take my hand off the shifter when doing a burnout, plus i think it will look better than mounting it somewhere in the console. any tips that might help install?

Just a couple tips - don't get anything in the lines when you have them off. Just be thorough and take it easy on the install. Use a tubing bender to bend the lines so they don't crimp/restrict flow. Bleed the hell out of the brakes when you're done to get any air out of the system. Check the master cylinder fluid level when you're bleeding, so it doesn't get too low. Check back on the install for any leaks the first couple weeks.
