02 Sensors

Just reach up by the transmission and unplug the o2 sensors there and also at the back of the transmission. Then once you get the pipe off, they are much much easier to wrench off.

1st) Don't use a 14mm socket on anything. You shouldn't be using metric on an American car.

How long have you been working on cars? American cars have used metric for quite awhile. Last car I had that wasn't metric was my 78 Cobra II. A general rule is I slip the socket on and if there is ANY back and forth movement then you have the wrong one. Using the wrong socket will make life hell if you round off that bolt, especially that header bolt.

I just put an o/r on mine today. I was alittle worried about the passenger side too. Use a 10-12in extension. The swivel extension you'll need for the bottom nut on the pass side. The 02's are much easier to unplug then
unbolt them when the pipe is off. If you look at the pass side manifold
top bolt from one angle its a straight shot. Me and a friend did mine in
1 hour. The extra set of hands help when putting the o/r on.
I didnt put the mil elims on and I've taken the car out 3 times and still have
no check engine light.
The sound is amazing!!!!

lol that rules dude. what mufflers\catbacks do you have.

i just had a fun time putting my o/r h-pipe on my 2000gt, first off, the guy ordered me the wrong one, so i had to wait another week for the thing. then he orders me one from headman, ok a little bit more money but whateva. i go to put the thing on, which by the way, the stock h-pipe came right off. i put it on put the simulators in and start it, EXHAUST LEAK HARDCORE!!! the way it was set up the drivers header had two 1/2 inch spacers on the bolts, the pipe wasnt suckin the pipe up to the manifold. after taking a wizzer to the lip tryin it again, no luck. i had to nut and bolt the drivers side with some shady bolts and nuts, and now my check engine light is back on for the o2 sensors again....So the moral of the story is DO NOT BUY A HEADMAN OFF ROAD H-PIPE!!!!

I used a 10" extension, universal joint, and a 15mm long drive socket. It was also alot easier by removing that little brace that goes across the K member. My frined and I unbolted one side, loosened the other, and swung it out of the way. It gave us more room to work with.

If you are running an o/r pipe and no MIL eliminators, it's only a matter of time before your check engine light will pop up. Mine came on with cats.

I have a question about the mils. Do you have to put them on right away? Or can you drive with the check engine light on and then put them on later when you get them (before resetting the computer)?

Shouldn't be a problem to drive without the mils. There is no performance impact if the check engine light is on because of no cats. But if something else is tripping the check engine light in addition, you wouldn't know unless you pulled the codes.

x pipe

I used a 15 mm socket with a swivle ratchet and a log extension to install my Magnaflow X Pipe , took about 30 minutes once I got the stock H Pipe off. That took me another 30 minutes. Make sure you disconnect the battery. it isn't hard at all, try to get your car as far off the ground as safely possible, I ran the car up onto ramps, secured the front tires on the ramps with chocks, jacked up the rear and put the rear onto jack stands, leaving the floor jack in position for safety.
