Everyone absolutely has to go out and buy the latest issue of mustang monthly. Included is a mini-mag that covers the key points of mustang evolution from 64.5-78. Turn to the last page and read the article about the II. It's not even fair, it's just down-right flattering!

Here are some quotes:

"Even in its basic form, the all-new '74 mustang had charm."

"The Mustang II was a quantum engineering leap..."

"...it offered better quality than any Mustang to date. Door fit was exceptional, and ride quality was better than any Mustang in history."

"As the '70s progressed, the Mustang II only became better."

I dont believe an article this blaitently biased towards the II has ever been published, so maybe we could all show our support! :nice:

so...........um what are you smokin or drinking.

kidding aside its great to get some good press but we are a long way from getting respect. i just ordered front end parts from a copule rod shops. both asked what kind of car i had. when i stated a mustang II, there was silence then "oh.......um okaaaaay".

I never was one for trends. The fact that II's are the black sheep just make them more desirable for me.
If you drive an earlier Stang or a late model Stang, you can be assured to see others like yours at shows and on the streets.

If you drive a II, chances are slim that you'll see another one driving around. (I havent seen another II anywhere near my town in about 2 years!)
I don't need people's acceptance to enjoy my car, I like the body lines of the II, and I especially like their very low weight.
The sad thing is, a lot of people come up and ask me if my Mustang II is a "'67" or "'68". Heh. (Yeah, it's the rare and elusive "1967 Mustang II", equipped from the factory with a "big block 302".)

Back to the point, it's cool to see a magazine writer praising the II. (If for no other reason than to annoy the classic Stang elite crowd)

Both are very good points, I know of 2 II's in my town that were running around here. The one was a gold 77 coupe the guy worked at Lawsons auto parts, Got creamed by a dump truck is no more :( and the other was a 78 CBII, haven't seen it in the last 2-3 years though.

And your right, that article really outta tork off the classic owners lol

I have a subscription to mustang monthly. Which month is the article in? The latest one I have is the April 04 issue. I don't remember seeing it in there.

its not in mustang monthly. its in the little "40th anniversary celebration" packet that came with the magazine. it doesnt have page numbers, so I dont know what article you are reading.

true true......the only II's that I have seen in this area are all out in the driveway. There's one in the next town over, but the guy has put so much ghetto stuff on it that I wouldn't even consider riding in it
