Loud Exhaust
How are you gonna make a statement like, "gosh I love So. Cali." then act like the rest of the country should be the same way? You obviously know it's a unique situation, or else you wouldn't have made that statement.

And the whole athlete thing is just stupid, IMO. I'm not gonna send my kid to a school just because their football team wins a lot of games. Do you really think a school like that is putting most of it's money into academics?
It's also a lot easier to fill a roster with good athletes when you have six times as many people as a private school. My Senior class had 51 people. The avg. public school here has like 350. Hmm...I wonder who could put together a better team.
Yea your right so cal is in a special situation. And the whole athlete thing was a joke.

I don't agree with t hat my school is very strict on course requirements. And I still stand behind my we have better athletes statement.

If Public Schools were so great, we wouldn't be way behind many other countries in math and such. Fact is, the Public School system SUCKS in general. There are exeptions, of course, but in general it sucks and its societies fault. Everyone thinks that they should be able to do whatever they 'feel like' doing and that everyone should pander to them and praise them for going along with their feelings... including LAZINESS among other things. Basically, if you don't do well "Blame it on someone else." People need to start taking responsibility and stop blaming everyone else.

ANYWAY, there are always exeptions, but IN GENERAL, Private Schools score better on STANDARDIZED TESTING (therefore, you cannot buy grades) than the public schools. PERIOD.

Don't even talk about this to me, I live in West Texas. Heck there filming a movie right now with Billy Bob Thorton about our high school football and crap one of the so called good football schools would do

The general thought around here is this, if you can take our high school to state we will give you anything you want. Our teachers get payed jack while a good football coach will make 3-5 times a teachers pay. Which the schools whos football team suck has high grades over all but no one wanted there kids to attend therm. I got my son on a private school list so when he gets ready for school that is where he will attent, but it only goes to 6th grade. After that we will go from there, maybe another private school.

As for cars the kids drives to school, its your typical public school cars; Merscdes, BMW's, SUV's, GT's, Cobra's, and Mach's. As for driving around town every thing from a Farrari to a McClaran F1. The joys of living in a small West Texas town.

theres a senior at my school that drives a camaro Z28... so fast and so little driving experience...

At the high school out here, we have 2 Dodge Viper GTS', one GTS-R Viper, I don't know how many Lightnings and Cobras, all late model Stangs, BMW M3's, M5's, Jags, even two Ferrari 550 convertables. Even when I was going there five years ago, it was like going to school in Beverly Hills. I had the only Dodge Ram though..lol. It was my dad's. But parents these days will buy their kids anything if it will shut them up. We had a 16 year old kid die a few months back because he tried to take a nearly 90 degree turn at 140mph in a Trans-Am WS.6. Hit a pole and killed himself. What did his parents say? "There's no way OUR little Johnny would be driving that fast." Yeah, ok...

This is true they suck because our elected afficals give jack thought about them. I love Bush heck He's from my town and saw them around a few dozen times but his plan that no kid left behind well NEVER work. The system is so screwed up you would have to clean house for years to get us up and running right. One has to ask him self way our government let our schools turn to pot? I wonder if its the ole dumb up the system so they want know we' re screwing them over? Think about it; the IRS was set up to fund WW I and they said once its over we'll stop taxing our butts. Well over 50 years later have they? I have to wonder how many youths know that imformation. Now since the majority of the people who was alive when this "was said and done", are all most all dead and there is no one around to argue the fact. They got to making to much money to just let it go :(

The other thing I wonder is do they screw up the books so that our kids learn crap. 20/20 did a report a few years back on the imformation in our kids text books. It had a full page on Marlyn Monrrow and a wallet size pic/artical of Goerge Washington. The page was about historical figures in U.S. history????
It also had a deal on Christpher Clombus landing in American in 1592 , now is that a type-o or the system wants you to be dumb. This 20/20 deal went on and on about this stuff.

The fact of the matter is this when stuff happens and it don't effect you, there is no way your going to step in and help. Poeple have a huge history of this kinda like WW II : When the Germans came looking for Doctors, I was a lawyer so what, when they came looking for politicians so what I was a lawyer, when they came looking for lawyers :(

I completely agree with the it's societies fault statement. I mean ok I don't mean to be racist or anything but lets take a typical japenese student. If his or her family were to move to the US, after the student was in scholl in japan for a couple years, that student would almost certainly score higher than us natives because there society force feeds them the idea "knowledge is power." But let that same student have a child of her own here in the states I bet you that her child won't take school anywhere nearly as serious as the mother did. It's our society people and don't say it's just the government. It's also the parents, the neighbors, and yes the child him or herself. Sad isn't it?

I agree that most public schools do suck, but that's the government's and parent's fault. I self-motivated myself do to well in school. I think it's BS when people say "well I didn't have any motivation." My motivation was from looking at the phat cash I'll be getting after 8 years of college.

I just have no respect for the a-ssholes that think their s-hit doesn't stink just because they went to a private school. I believe that everyone is equal. I hate it when people that stand higher in society look at the common person as a rodent. Maybe if some of the people that went to private schools weren't such j-acka-sses to the people that went to public school, then maybe my opinion of private schools will change. I don't see that happening though.

I'm a freshman in college now, but when I was in high school there was this kid that had a civic si. His parents and grandparents gave him enough money to do anything he wanted to the car. He probably put 15 - 20 grand in it. In a testament to his driving skills, he crashed a car into a tree one night after a fight with his girlfriend. Fortunately, he was driving his mother's Volvo. His face had to be reconstructed and is still ridiculously messed up. The doctors and paramedics said he would have been decimated if he had been driving his civic, which puts down well over 300 horses as far as I know. I'm not a fan of the kid so I'm not sure whats done to it cause we don't talk. But still, there's my two cents as to why teens shouldnt have ridiculously fast cars. Then again, I'm 18 and I drive a mustang...

Honestly, that seems a little childish. "I'm not gonna admit private schools provide better foundations and opportunities because I don't like the people that attend them."
I seriously don't know who the private school kid was that pissed you off, but that just seems like a dumb reason to try and argue that public schools are better.

I was in private school and saw kids that couldn't afford cars. Some of my friends came from families that were struggling to keep them in the school, so even getting a 10 yr-old Civic was out of the question for them. That's why it bothers me to see kids with $30k cars riding on tax dollars when it comes to getting an education.

BUT ITS PRETTY LOUD(its a uniqe sound). or just go but a creat engine and drop it in their :nice: , and you will woop his ass in everything!!

I just don't like the snobs that go to private schools. I never said public schools were better than private schools. Some public schools do perform as well or better, but for the most part they don't. I'm not blind. I was just making the point that most of the people I know that went to private schools think their s-hit doesn't stink, and because of that attitude, I have little respect for private schools; not because they do better, just because of the students.
