GTR - 40 Pics

Built by Saleen??? Why not SVT? It also doesn't mention anything about the rear suspension. I wonder if its IRS or not.

Good for Ford to think about getting back into racing, but that certainly doesn't look very aerodynamic or light. I wonder just how competitive it will (could) be on the track. Let's just hope Ford follows up with more than just a concept.

I thought those were someone's photo-chops... it's based on the concept vehicle, though, not the production.

Yeah, the story sounds right, but the pics are totally photoshopped. They said the Gt-r is a concept based of the production version, not the concept

Look again. The sides of the GTR are definately the production parts, you can tell from the door handles and side "scoups". But as you have noticed the front & rear facias are similar to (but not identical to) the concept.

Bah...I was hoping that we had see the last of those awful taillights after the production version was introduced. :nonono: That wing hurts my eyes, and that's probably the worst looking side exhaust I've ever seen. Other than that I like it. The front looks sweet.

where did you find those pics?

I'm sure the wing is entirely functional - think Cobra R. The side exhaust is a bit over-the-top, as are the wheels, but I like it overall. Give me some more reasonably sized wheels and less chrome on the exhaust exits, and bump the power to the magical 500 mark. Then we'll have a nice Viper and Z06 eater. Let the Ford GT handle the big boys - the Italians.

I want to know what the odds are of this making production in some form or another, though. Give it a year or two to prove itself on the race track, then do a limited run for around $50k.

Its the new Supra Cobra R and I imigine that it will not be street legal in that form.

It is a race car so the wing should be entirely functional. Its not about looking hot on the track, its about keeping your car on the track.
