Hey fellow Mustang owners, I just got my parents to trade in my 2002 Mustang V6 Premium Coupe for a 2003 Mustang GT Premium Coupe. I actually picked the car up on Ford's 100th Anniversary on June 16, 2003. It is dark shadow grey and goes great with the Bullit style wheels that are standard on GT Premium. So far all I have done to this car is put in a KandN air filter due to money shortages, as I am only 17 years old. I got the GT in automatic because since my parents paid for it, it was their call on the tranny. My brother got a 2001 Camaro SS and although its slightly faster and I like it a lot, I love the looks of the Mustang GT more. I wanted to know what cheap or free mods I can do to this car that are $100 or less. If you can give me ideas and prices of the mod's I would appreciate it. Also I have seen stock 99-03 GT 0-60 automatic times anywhere from 6.2 to 5.5 and I really would like to know what the true automatic transmission 0-60 time is. I am guessing 5.8, but could be totally wrong. Please let me know. Thanks a lot.

whats up dude,
welcome to the club. its good to see another teen w/ a GT. i just turned 18 myself, and when i got my GT i had just turned 17, so i was (and still am) strapped for mod cash, plus i had to pay the last few grand. i think ive almost done basically every cheap/free mod. like someone said earlier, mostly its just appearance stuff. the rest i will write anyway

here's what i've dont
-lowered windshield wipers-free
-painted brake calipers-$7 for Autozone Caliper paint, borrowed jack and stands
-removed air silencer-free
-removed trunk badges for a cleaner look-free
-removed front license plate also for a cleaner look (its illegal in TX, so i had to stick it in the lower corner of the windshield w/ suction cups.
-removed seatbelt loops for a cleaner look, and more comfort b/c before the seatbelt ran right across my neck. it still does, but not as bad.

i havent yet:
-removed MAF screen-free
-painted interior-like $10 for paint
-free leg room mod (afraid of drilling holes in my seat mechanism)
-moved back spoiler (extremely afraid of drilling my trunk)
-removed the corner markers in the headlights-free to $10 or so, but looks so good :worship:   :hail2:
-performed a rear seat delete-maybe $30-$50 in wood and such to DIY
-made rino ramps-~$20-$30-used to drive your car up onto when doing work underneath
-hardwired my radar detector-~$20 in misc. wires. it gets annoying to keep changing the batteries in my radar detector every 2-3 months (and expensive)

those are what i can think of off the top of my head. oh, and you mentioned your brother got a camaro ss that is slightly faster, right?? hm, try racing him to find out exactly how much "slightly faster" he is. dont think you will be able to hang with him unless you put out some serious money for a blower, or at least a FULLY built engine i.e. heads, intake, cams, headers. basically anything VT or SHM has to offer. pm me if you have questions on how to perform any free/cheap mod i've written
