Well I'm thinking about getting one for the weight savings, my car is black and to be honest I'm not totally excited about the carbon fiber look. The reality is this.

1. I HATE the fake hood scoop on the late model mustangs like mine.
2. Our hoods are very heavy, plus I can get heat extractor which might actually help the engine rather than hinder the aerodynamics of the car with the fake scoop.
3. I could paint it later, right?

Unpainted carbon fibre is definitely NOT rice. (look at the Saleen SR). Just because many ricer cars out there have them, doesn't make it a bad thing. If that were so, you could say turboes are rice, and body kits are rice, and tachs on the dash are rice. Carbon fibre has been used in the auto motive industry long before the ricers came around.

With that being said, paint the hood, but use a thin enough coat that you can still see a "ghost" carbon fibre pattern under the paint :)

Unpainted would be Way too much rice.......For the money you will spend on that hood you could probly some headers and a midpipe.......or a better source of weight reduction......

Painted CF is one of the most retarted ideas I have EVER heard of. Lets take a light, exotic material, and paint it!!! Yes- lets totally cover up the gorgeous fiber weave, and add some weiht back to it! Yeah... stupid stupid.

Raw CF is simply gorgeous. Just cause some ricer kids have them does not make them rice. They look kinda goofy tho on light colored cars.. On black, grey or dark blue.. OMG sublime!

Raw or clearcoated CF = teh hawtness!! Get some!

The entire Saleen s7 is carbon fiber but you dont see those going around without paint.

Ohh look at me I spent money and I want you to know it. Do it for the weight savings not the look, the opposite is pure ricer. Half the carbon fiber stuff is heavier than the fiberglass because it is done so poorly anyways. If you get it because you want the looks then you are a poser.

"I left my body kit unpainted so people will know its different."
