this older guy around town has a 325is '92, but it has a euro '98 M3 engine. its very quick, he took me for a ride in it the other day. how far off am i from running with it? i have a stock '02 GT. having owned and tuned a 325is, i know that they are not slow cars, and having the euro version M3 engine makes it stupid quick. he was looking for a race, and i didnt, so we got to talking and it turned out under that old 325 hood he had a screaming m3 engine in it :hail2:

how bad would i get spanked?

How heavy is a '92 325?
The 98 M3 (well, the US one) is a little slower than a 99+ GT. More of a driver's race.

If the 325 is a bunch lighter than the 98 M3 body style he may have an edge.

I raced a 99 M3 (him 1 passenger, me with 3) from a highway roll at 60mph 3 times, we were even once, and each pulled once. If I didn't have the passengers I woulda won all 3. Stock.

From a dig, I'd destroy him.

I raced an brand new M5 in my car on the freeway. He pulled on me pretty hard. However, I think from light to light it would be a different story. The ********** gave me thumbs down. He was a guy from this website too. ASS First meet I went to and they kinda pissed me off, a couple of the guys were really nice though.

new ones are much faster than the old US E36 M3's.

One of my friends has a 95 euro m3 with catback, intake, and chip. He raced my friends 03 gt 5-speed with pullys, catback, and cai. They were about even till 40mph then the mustang started pulling. at about 60 the mustang was about 1 car length ahead. Although the m3 feels a lot faster when your in it.

Any US previous generation M3 is rated 240 fwhp. The euro ones
of the same generation are 287fwhp 321 fwhp I believe. The current M3's are 333 fwhp. These current M cars lay down 275-285 wheels. If you want to mess with one of these you better have full bolt-ons. The earlier models are quick and can be a problem if you are stock and can't drive.
The big advantage that these cars have is that they hook, and the throttle response is second to none.

BTW the last year or two of the Z3M coupe and convertible are
315fwhp!!
