Im getting my UPR Pro series rear kit installed this friday, the adj upper and adj lowers w/ bearings/ anit roll bar and tourqe boes. Hopefully it goes smoothly and they dont chip and $hit like u said. I also run the UPR k-member, and it still looks in great condition, no paint chips.
On you trailor queen? they'll look great forever. Only gets driven what, once a month? :stick:
I really think UPR is a hit or miss deal. I know just as many people who couldn't make their K-members bolt up to save their lives as had no problems whatsoever. Coilover kits where the perches broke whithin a few weeks, and ones that performed perfectly at the track for years of pounding. I've seen stuff that looks like crap, and it makes me think of $5 Oakleys at the 7-11 because I've seen some stuff that the quality was outstanding and it seems like there's another company out there doing knockoff UPR parts or something. Maybe they just have good days and bad days at the production line- and a lot of stuff slips under the QC radar. If your stuff looked good out of the box, it probably is. If it doesn't, you could probably send it back and get identical parts back that look 100% better from them. I haven't figured it out yet, but I think it may have something to do with the fact that they are just a bunch of pirates. (but then, who isn't anymore?)

I called wildrides in farmingdale NJ a few days ago, wanted them to do the install of the UPR stuff....BOY was that a bad idea. Turns out, i spoke to the owner of wildrides, the UPR is ripping off EVERYTHING wildrides makes rear suspension wise. If you go to their website u will see what i mean. He was a nice guy, but said" U know, i should tell u to call UPR and have them install them, but i wont do that"...he then quoted me at $1200 for the uppers/lowers w/ bushings/ anti roll bar and tq boxes... but if was there product, it wouldnt be that expensive. Wildrides is seriously pissed off over this crap. My old man has taken some nice pics of my UPR stuff, and it looks really nice, good welds, ect ect. If i was wildrides, i would beseriously pissed too. Mustang magic quoted me at 800-900. The guy iv found locally...alot cheaper. here are the pics

Like I said, total pirates. They even eat their young. You guys see the post on here this past year with the link to the webpage of the guy who used to work for them? They lied to him, stole from him, and totally ripped him off- their own employee. He took a lot of the blame upon himself for making some stupid decisions, but most of them were going to work for them in the first place, giving them the benefit of the doubt, sticking it out, etc, long after he should have seen the writing on the wall and got out. Such a bad experience he paid for a web page describing the whole ordeal: "the truth about UPR". It was online about two weeks, if I remember correctly. Hasn't stopped me from buying from them, but I treat them like a good dog I don't trust too much.

I have used BBK boxed uppers & lowers with the poly bushings. And do put the poly bushings in the Rear housing. It is a pain in the Arse if you don't have an air gun to punch them out but it can be done. Clean the housing well with fine sandpaper and lube the crap out of them when putting them in. As for the control arms they were the best thing I did for the car in such a short project.

have fun

MM all the way. I bought and installed the adjustable height' with the poly chassis bushing and spherical axle bushing and love them. No wheel hop like before.
I do hear the rear end more than I think I would with the stock arms, but it could be the rear-end's close tolerances in the gears because of the way it was set up.

Stangbear do you have a link to the post on the TRUTH ABOUT UPR? I would like to read that one.

I wish I did. That page wasn't up for more than a week or two. I don't know if UPR got him to take it down or what, but it didn't last long. It was funny though, his hit counter at the bottom of the page said "Now __ people know THE TRUTH about UPR". It had about 100 hits last time I saw it. He said they used to go to parts fairs, and the boss would give them cash and send them out to find other good billet products to buy and bring back so they could copy them. He specifically said he personnally brought back the Steeda timing adjuster wheel and Reichart Racing adjustable timing indicator. Blatent ripoff. I wish I could remember more, or made a copy of the page or something. I never figured it'd be gone so soon.

About that whole UPR thing I would like to agree with you guys 100%. I got an email from them a little while back and in the email they were telling me that if there is a product on the market that is to expensive and UPR doesn't make yet, to send them some pictures and a description, and they will bring it to them market with the best quality and price they can. That right there sounded a little fishy to me. By the way the adjustable cable I bought from them was a POS nothing but problems and binding. Finally broke after 3 months so I bought one from Ramchargers and haven't looked back. Had to vent a little sorry.

There certainly are! Then there are ethics, which can be a different animal than bargain shopping entirely. Who did the research and developement on what you want, put in the hard work to make the best product- and who just ripped off their design and mass produced it? Then it logically follows: who is the one who has a better working knowledge of the ins and outs of the design and a better understanding of the product- and who'se only a copycat who knows how to market stuff? This can naturally lead to: who is going to stand behind their product and give the best customer service and support, because they paid for their good reputation with blood sweat and tears and it's on the line?
Here's a thought: we all know Walmart offers the best bang for the buck. Not the highest quality, not the best ethics, no staff who'se exited about their exceptional job; but they usually are the best bang for the buck. We also know that if everyone shops there, they (are) will drive everyone else out of town. The same can happen in our aftermarket too if we aren't carefull, and one day the only ones left will be the pirates who really don't have any innovative ideas of their own. Which finally brings us down to: who do you want to do business with?
Now that I'm done preaching, I'll admit I've bought a lot of stuff from UPR (PIRATE EXAMPLE LOT#1) although I'm not proud of it. Sometimes, they were just the best bang for the buck. I'm pretty happy with most of it, but any time I had a problem they basically told me to go play with myself. On the other hand, I've given almost $4000 to Maximum Motorsports over the last few years, and I do feel real good about that always. Not to say I haven't had any problems with their stuff, but their C.S. is second to none and everything has always been resolved above and beyond my expectations. I feel like I have the best stuff I can get, and that the credit (and money) has gone where it is due. I paid for more than just a product, and I definately got what I paid for.

Very good description, I like how it was expressed. Yes companies take others designs, but I guess that is what we call competion. But like you mention, its how they stand behind there product as well as there customer service. A company can take an idea, improve it, use top notch components and a+ quality and then stand behind it a 100%. Thats what makes the world spin. To me friendly customer service and a good atitude is # 1 to me.

i have factory five racing uppers and central coast mustangs ground pounder weight jacker lowers. i swear they were the best mod i made as far as drivability, i could finally drive in the rain without worrying about spinning the tires at every stop sign

i got the blue ovals for $150.better than stock, the only downside was it doesn't come with the axle bushings and the grease fittings are so small you have to use a needle grease fitting to grease them but they work great.also put a set of hotchkiss arms on my buddys 72 chevelle, cost a lot more but seem more sturdy, but you get what you pay for.
