stock heads, cam, mass air, throttle body. only things done to the motor are TFS intake, bumped timing, bumped fuel pressure, no smog, AC, or PS.

i finally got around to weighing my car again and it is 3085 with me in it. that definatly help out.

i would say get a throttle body and open up that air way a bit.you already have a good intake, so getting a t-body might help.

Moroso makes a set of rear drag springs, they might just do the trick with a set of lakewood 50/50s in the rear.

do you have underdrive pullies?? You should run a short belt if you dont already...atleast bypass the smog.

I went racing last night as well, only i didnt race. My buddy raced his '86 which is just about bone stock except for 3.73s and BBK shorties, but he couldnt get anything better than a 14.8 due to terrible traction. All his 60s were over 2.0

Wow dude you were right there too... a 13.008... Thats a nice MPH.. almost 104 :nice:

Its gonna happen.. :spot: You have to get a 1.6xx somehow. I knew you had the intake but wasn't aware you still had stock Mass and T body... Try a bigger MAF & T body to go with the intake.. If $$$ was an issue and I had to get one over the other, i'd get the T body first, as according to that FAQ sheet a stock MAF flows about the same as a 65 mm T body CFM wise anyways... just yank the screen out of your stock MAF if you havent.. [you already have probably]

Man, I cant wait to get all my parts... I'm dying to go back to the track now that I will have the suspesnion all done and can hook.. and an off road X... I'm hoping I can crack into the 12s too...

Good job on the 13.008.... thats sweet! That car is a real runner for all the miles it has on it eh?

Awesome times. From what I have been told a mass air meter would help (mines stock too) some. I knew the 4.30s would help but I have a question...

Do you shift into 2nd before the 60'? If you do this could be killing your 60' times. I know my friend has 3.73s and from watching his vids he shifts right before the 60' and is stuck in the 1.64-1.77 range. Your 60's may only look bad, when they actually might not be bad at all!

I know your pain well.... Ive got an EH'd Cobra intake waiting to go on. Otherwise last week I ran a huge string 13.0x's. I have a 77mm MAF and a 65mm TB though.
I did run a worse 60' than Im used to with the new 4.10s... turned out I had forgotten to tighten up the rear adj. shocks and they were all the way soft. With that light of a GT (pretty amazing!) you really should be able to get that 60' down lower. Im sure in a couple weeks we'll all have our slips...

damn man, 4.30's that is alot of gear, I say you should dyno tune, chances are you're running rich usually stock FP is enough for stock cars, running rich you will lose a tenth or ALOT more. Underdrive pulleys should give you a noticable difference for cheap, might need to upgrade alternator if it's daily driver. Doubt it is though at that weight and gearing :)

well, thank you everyone for the kind words.

i have my fuel pressure at 50lbs vac off. i tuned it one day last year at the track and that's what the car liked. maybe my injectors are not up to par  plugs also looked a little white with less fuel pressure. should i get some injector cleaner and run through there?

and no, it's not my daily driver. i don't drive it as much as i used to because i want to keep it under 5000 miles per year anyway (emissions related). gearing's not bad at all on the highway because i run 275-60-15 street tires(28").

Nice times. Your 60s are OK. Actually they are farely stout for a low 13 second car. I cut 1.60s and run in the mid 11s.

Did it spin? I find my ET streets hook the best with a slight SQUEEK of the line. Seems to 60 better. Small burnout for me.

What RPM do you leave at. I have an MSD 6 AL with a 2 step rev-limiter plugged in. It rocks. Hold the button and shove your foot to the floor. Release the button as the clutch is let go. SEE YA. I dropped from 1.71-1.73 to low 1.6s. Just because when I dropped the hammer it was WIDE OPEN instead of 1/2 or 3/4 for that split second. I have a 5800 on the low side and 7000 rpm for the top limiter. Works awsome. $65 for a tenth off a 60 ". Hell ya.

there is some spin. i'm on brand new ET Streets, so maybe they're not broken in yet. they are just not setting me back in the seat like my last set was.

i was leaving ~4500-5000 i think. it's pretty darn hard to keep an eye on the tach and the light at the same time. especially when there is a louder car beside you. a step has been on my mind for a while now, but i also need the ignition to go with it. mine is all stock.

I think if he is shifting before the 60' they are good. If not he can improve. My car with similar mods, a stock untouched suspension and 3200 lbs pulls consistent 1.74-1.75s, and a best of 1.72! He has a low 1.7 high 1.6 in it, I feel!

I think its pretty awsome your getting those times with a stock cam :nice: And that high mileage :nice:

Actually the stock cam is not to shabby. NMRA's factory stock run high 11s with that profile. Of course they are purpose built race cars but they still put 300 rwhp + to the tires with a small cam. Even in full weight cars the stock cam performs deep into the 12s with other good parts.

Awesome Man!:nice: I think you just matched me in MPH LOL:D I gotta get back to the track so I can beat SOMEBODY into the 12s lol!

No doubt! Nice work. Ever think about reving out 1st a little longer to make sure your getting past the first 60ft? Or just power shift the 1-2 shift only. I'm like you I granny shift every gear....Ever figure out where your pinion angle is? might try a bit more depending on where your at.

Again CONGRATS man.... that's sweet glad to see you got that close. I say stay with the combo you have... it's been your goal to stay close as stock as possible & hit the 12's so stick with it your RIGHT there :nice:

Like I say, powershift every gear, and if you do, you will be rewarded into the 12s! I also agree, let first rev out and see where it takes you. It might be revving so high the car might never really fall on its face and that might help the times.

Now its time to experiment and see what works.
