How is not having a line lock the problem, my car runs 10s without a line lock....its about modifacations, and the only one working on your side are those 4.10's. most guys with manuals dont use line locksoff the line, it just takes practice and good control. what gear did u trap in> 4th im hoping with 4.10s. Anymore more info u can provide about the pass?

IF you were on ET streets you should be cutting much better 60fts with that gear in that light of a car. Drop tires down to 11lbs of air pressure.. do a solid burnout by power braking the car.. when they start to smoke good lift off the brake and keep your foot in it until the tires bite/chirp. Take it and hold it at about 4k rpm and when your ready to launch put your foot down to the floor and then lift off the clutch around 5K rpm. Your car should be well into the 13s on motor alone. When you really want to run fast on nitrous use a full throttle switch and spray it right off the line in first gear. You will want to leave a little lower rpm when spraying. Driving can make a world of difference and getting that 60ft down some will help for sure. When I was 16 I ran a 14.04 in a 12 second GTO my first time ever at the track lol.

i think the problem is that im not staying in the burn out box long enough. the line loc would help me stay in the box longer. not for off the line. i also have a full throttle switch and a window switch set for 3k to 6k. i basically put my car in the box put in 2nd gear and dump it trying to hold the brake but it doesnt want to stay. thanks guys anyone other suggestions.

what track are you racing at the reason i ask is i live on the ohio border when i am at my moms and i race 2 of the ohio tracks and you should be able to power brake your 5 speed and your car shouldnt just push you i got 4 cyl brakes on my car on i sit in the burn out box for a min or longer and i dont get pushed out of the box

your not burning out IN the water box are you? All you want is one good tire rotation in the water then pull up out of it a few feet. Disregard this if you arent burnig out IN the water box.

no i dont burn out in the water i pull out. but im telling you my brakes wont hold me in the box. i race at national trail also. little more about my car, i have my timing at 10 degrees and have 24 spark plugs also am running about 40 psi fuel pressure. just wondering if any of this stuff could be hurting it. what about if my posi unit is going out. thanks guys

Thats really odd you cant power brake that car.. ive driven over 20 mustangs and never had a problem holding one still. Get the tires in the water and try to spin them one rotation.. pull up a few feet.. stop the car.. then rev it up in 2nd gear and dumb the clutch and grab the brake quickly and apply enough pressure to hold the car but not bog the motor. Some ppl like to hold thier foot sideways to power brake. Its all preference but you should be able to hold it still and if not you need to get your brakes checked.

I have the same problem. I cut 1.9's though with a stock 3.08 rear gear and ET's. I hoping with 3.73's I can get it down to 1.7's. It's not that I'am not warmign my tires up cause I have NO LOSS of traction when I launch at 4-5k. It just bogs and I have to learn to do a hard feather with it.

lol I bet it does bog with 3.08 gears... man those 3.73s are gonna be like night and day difference... gonna feel like you stuck nitrous on the car.
