Did you ever have a flat tire now...

I had a flat tire two weekends ago. It was a nail in my tire, so it was a slow leak. I put some air in it, and took it to the shop. They roughed up the inside, threw some goop on there, put a patch on, then threw some more goop over the patch.

Seems good so far..

From what I hear about the fix-a-flat stuff is that it only should be used as a TEMPORARY fix until you can get to a repair shop. Also, I think most of that stuff is flammable, and the repair shop has to be notified that the tire contains the fix-a-flat so they can vent the tire outside.

Use a plug/patch temporarily and don't do excessive speeds. Fix-a-flat is even more temporary so you can just get to a shop. I had a plug in my tire that was borderline tread and sidewall. I drove it home from Maryland anyway and by the time I got home it had started to bulge and I didn't go over 75. Now I have a new tire and I see 90 more frequently than I notice. DAMN IT'LL MOVE!

The only one of those can products I would use is the one called "Tire Jack". I think it's the only one that isn't explosive. Like the other guy said, be SURE to inform the place that is going to work on your tire that the fix-a-flat is in there. Get a patch put on the INSIDE and you should be fine.

When a speed rated tire is repaired it is no longer considered a speed rated tire...If you are drag racing there would be no problem because you are only seeing 100mph for a short period of time..but if you are a freeway bomber!!..replace the tire!!Not worth the risk IMO..Get rid of that fix a flat...it can throw your tire out of balance at high speed...plus it will eat chrome or paint off your rim.....nasty ****!! :nice:

omg,....speaking of low tires...i did the stupidest thing last thurs.I went to the track for 3 passes, and I set my nittos down to 23 lbs. Well I didn't air them back up on the way home cause I don't live that far from the track.

Then the next morning I just so happened to be freakin late for work. So I'm flying down the Interstate at 100 +. And It's not till I get to work that I realize my tires are still at 23 lbs.......stupid, stupid, stupid, me.

and stupid me for going 100 .....I know I shouldn't do that
