06 SVT Mustang Cobra Spotted !!

Looks real to me. I doubt that's the new Cobra however. What it *might* be, and this is just speculation, is a mule that's being used to test the powerplant of a Cobra, BOSS, or other limited run Mustang. It might only have that cowl because it needs it to fit the motor underneath.

But the Cobra will definitely have a diff. front fascia and other body panels, since they're trying to move it more upscale. Not just a lame ass cowl hood.

But how do you explain the seam being gone. The hood changing colors at that area. And the distortion of the headlights/Foglights?

I think we should just let it die. And when the next person posts about "this great new spy pic of the next Cobra" we can all smile & nod, and tell them that it's going to be really cool, have a big tall hood, and that we hear there's even going to be a GTR style wing...

The pic was taken when the car was at speed, and it appears they didn't use the fastest of film, so it might just be a natural distortion. I don't notice the color change you're talking about. If it's about the placement of the leopard camouflage, that's pretty much how Ford did all the GT and V6 test mules.

Of course it could be a chop, but why would someone just chop a cowl hood on it? Also they could've found much better pics to play with if they wanted to chop it.

Ok after this I think I'm going to follow Dave's advice. If it was at speed. Why did it distort both sides unevenly (And completely off from a perspective point of view. Meaning things farther away are smaller.). As for the color change. Zoom in real close on the passenger side headlight. You will notice a distinct line about 3-4 scale inches up the hood. Where the colors make a distinct change. Which coincidentally is where the hood seam is lost.

The picture is real....over the years I have seen enough Ford test mule cars that when you look at them in person it looks photoshopped! let alone a photo of it.

I remember just before the SN95 mustang in 1993, I saw a fox coupe with SN95 fiberglass front end. I'm certain that I would been laughed out of here posting a pic of that car.

Regardless...what's the big deal with this picture anyway? you know Ford is working on an SVT version...only thing you can tell from this photo is they decided to put a cowl hood on a 2005 GT, and the rear spoiler looks to be a flat lip type...big freaking deal.

Drive along I-94 between Ann Arbor and Dearborn you can spot them all day long.

as for spotting one in Downey, here is my 2c.....sound strange...not that I don't believe it, you saw what you saw, but I can't see Ford sending a prototype to a Ford dealer. There are many reasons why, but I can tell you that there would be several thousand other Ford dealer up in arms over how a dealer in Downey got to see one. Manufacturers are very sensitive about showing favoritism towards any one dealer. They must be up to something with Saleen or using it for some goofy documentary piece?maybe Jesse James will chop it up in Monster Garage..LOL.

Bigger news to me is how I can get my hands on the GT-R front bumper and fender flares!

this pic is photo chopped period. don't even look at the mustang for a second. look at the shadows. Apparently this mustang is on Tatooine since there must be two Suns.
the tree or sign in the background behind the mustang is throwing a shadow to the left which is exactly opposite the mustang shadow is throwing.

Remember, if this photo is fake it's not the only one thats fake, i've seen more of these pics so they had to have done them all this way.
Btw in some of the other pics it shows the car up closer.
I wish i could post the link that had all the pics but it's been awhile since i saw it.
Honestly i believe it's a "mule" car and nothing more.

Holler, i didn't see it at first but what you posted does seem to be right but i honestly can't tell if it is a shadow but if it is you are 100% correct.

There may be a requirement from Ford that magazines touch up the photos for a blurred look. Still....the photo, real or not, does not reveal much at all. It could be a mule car with 5.4L supercharged engine from the GT for durability testing (I'm sure prototype GT's are not that cheap). Or the Rumoured V10 for the SVT.

Who really cares? We know they are working on a new cobra, so what if this is a tester? Looks like a regular stang with a cowl. Does not give any insight on whats under hood, or how the car will look, so who really cares?

What is producing the shadow is not important, the angle of the shadow is though.
