I really want to do this to my car, but I can't seem to find much info on how to do it on the net. The closest I have seen is a kit that includes a "black box" that controls a sparkpulg in your tailpipe. But they say you can't have a cat. converter, since it doesnt allow unburned gas to make it out the tailpipe.

THey say that if you just hook up a sparkpulg to a switch, without using thier kit, you cna blow up your muffler. How?

And if I want to keep my cats (which I prolly will, sicne my car would be too loud without them since I dont have mufflers), is there stilla way to shoot flames? I like the look of flames that shoot out about a foot or so and look like afterburners...not the kind that go out and up like a big fireball.

I know some of you have pulled this off, so how did you do it?

Thanks.

it might work if you ran a switch to your o2 sensors, which would turn them off and make the car run rich. but you would end up screwing you pistons up if it went in your motor like a backfire. i melted 2 pistons in a for truck like this.

I've never tried this but it sounds good.....

Step 1: Mount a propane tank in trunk/hatch

Step 2: Run a line with some sort of solenoid(thats for you to figure out) from the propane tank to your tail pipe making sure it points towards the exit

Step 3: Put a spark plug in you tailpipe 6ish inches from very tip and give it a power source.

Step 4: Light the spark plug and open the tank and whoosh, nice tight FLAMES :nice:

EDIT
Disclaimer: These are directions, and pretty $hitty ones at that...If you try this and blow up your car it's your fault, not mine. The End.

you could run side exit pipes with cutouts and shoot em out the side. before the cats that would work (was gonna do this my self still am i think) i have a fireball kit aswell going on as soon as my blower engine goes in.

Not real sure why you would want to do this but....

The "black box" is not magic, its a relay. Back in the day, hot rodders would weld a sparkplug into their tailpipes wired to a coil. Then wire a switch to a relay that will send power to the coil while at the same time cutting power to your engine ignition so that you could rev it up hit the switch, the engine quits firing and spits all the raw fuel out the pipes to be ignited by the plugs at the end. Many would run their carbs full rich to heighten the effect. Not great for your engine performance or gas mileage but whatever. This method wont get the 15 foot flames that you see in the goodguys videos though as those are pretty much propane flamethrowers.

got to autozone buy a really cheap coil and wire it up to a switch. mount it to back by your tailpipes. put a sparkplug in the tailpipes then hook the coil up to the spark plug. then make a switch that can cut off power to your coil for your motor and that will allow the raw gas to run through the exhaust when you flip your coil on that is mounted to the back of the car it will shoot fire. but its bad for your engine

come on guys...you can't just wire up a coil and hook it to a plug.....you would have to sit in the car and fick the switch on and off and you would only get one spark every time.....think of a distributor

i have done this ..i have no cats,, no i dont have pics, but i do have the schematic, i will try to find it and post it. you need 2 12v automotive relays a on off switch a coil and a coil wire to a plug. some plugs work better than others. DO NOT INJECT PROPANE INTO YOUR EXHAUST. if the thing doesnt ignite the gas for some reason will will have serious issues when it does light.....think of a BBQ going off but much bigger. The relay schematic allows the relays to automatically toggle and the unit buzzzes while running. the spark plug throws a huge ass spark constantly.....i'll look fot the schem.....btw it's on the net that's where i got it.

Maybe if i drove a chop-top '49 Mercury slammed to the ground with 2 inch tail pipes, then i'd want'em to shoot flames, but not on my Mustang, unless it's REAL fire shooting out of them from aaaall that power...lol

hey i just remembered, i have one of those shockers for an electric fence. it is very strong, i put a spark plug on it before and it was the bluest and fattest spark i have seen. it sparks over and over again every second. if you had am ac/dc convertor you could plug that up in your car without a coil and shoot flames all day long
