Hey Everybody,
I have a 91 Gt and I am wanting to put the new 18 inch saleens on it, but I hear of how they rub and everyting, but I dont understand that if you get 40 series tires, how they would rub, is it because they are wider? Could i get away with 35 series? I also wanted to put Eibachs on it, what am I going to have to do besides a 5 lug to get this all to work? Thanks, Matt

if you can find saleens in 18x9 your fine. when you get the 10" wide ones, there is problems.

im using 18x9 cobra's all around with the usual rubbing fine. they rub in the front fenderwells on tight turns, and depending on the tire size (265 and up i think) can rub in the rear.

i have ford lowering springs on mine with the rims also and its really close in the front and a little more clearance in the back. so eibachs might be pushing it

I have 18" y2k Cobra R's with 245/40/18's and no problems at all. I do have no rear quad shock (which you will have to remove), all four coil overs and a front tubular k member and a-arm set up. The 18's look killer on the fox's though and I highly recomend doing the swap! I have the five lug conversion too.

Here is a pic of mine with 18x8.5 Saleen's.

sorry to jack into the thread since it's about 18's and mine is halfway about 17's but I'm getting no help from the 5.0 boys in tech so I figure this might be a good way to find out about my dilemma.

here's my thread:

I want these wheels so bad I can taste it, and I've got enough money on me (just sold a car) I can do whatever brake setup I basically need to in order to get them....BUT....cheaper is always better heh.

any help you guys can offer is much appreciated, thanks!
