Since the 2005 comes out around September/October area do you think the 2004's will be significantly lower than they are now? What about with the 40th Anniv. Pckg...what exactly is that anyway?

The reason why I ask this, is because I was gonna get a 2005, but I thought I could get the 2004 with the pckg. for about 2-3 years then trade it in on a new cobra!! So what do you think the 04's will be going for? Right now they run what, 27,000$ fully loaded (Coupe only!)? So should I be able to have one for around 21,000-23,000$?

Thanx,
Abel

Rumor has it that Ford's Mustang supply is running low and they may run out of cars this summer. If that is true, then prices should remain about the same as they are now.

"Ford predicting shortage of outgoing Mustangs this summer
By AMY WILSON | Automotive News

Ford Motor Co. expects to run out of current-model Mustangs before it begins assembling the redesigned 2005 Mustang in September.

Production of the 2004 Mustang will end May 10 at Ford's Rouge plant in Dearborn, Mich. Then Ford will shift Mustang production to Flat Rock, Mich., where it runs a joint-venture assembly plant with Mazda.

Since August, Ford has been building Mustangs on overtime to help it through the summer production drought. But demand for the old model has surpassed expectations: Mustang sales are up 16 percent this year.

"It's not going to make it," said Ford Division President Steve Lyons. "By July, they're going to be pretty scarce."

Buoyed by overtime production, Mustang stocks have been high through the winter. But the numbers are coming down fast. Ford had 58,200 Mustangs or a 96-day supply on April 1, down from a 127-day supply on March 1.

Sales for the rear-drive Mustang coupe and convertible typically are strongest in the spring and summer.

Convertibles account for 30 percent of production. After the current stock of convertibles sells out, buyers must wait until spring 2005 to get a drop-top version of the redesigned Mustang.

Ford offers a $3,000 cash rebate on the Mustang, but it might scale that back in May or June as inventories drop, Lyons said.

"There's no point when you're going to run out," he said. "You can't just back it off to zero. That doesn't work, but you might dial it differently."

Yup. This is the last week the SN95 will be in production. Dealers should be out of stock before they see the 2005. You won't find a new one if you wait but you might be able to find a deal on a slightly used one.

go check out Brandon fords of tampa. The website is brandonford.com. They have 5 speed gt's for $16,999. They have mach 1 for 24$. Cobras brand new just over $30. I heard about em on ls1.com some time ago. If you call and talk to their internet guys they will give you some amazing deals. They are not running any sorta scam either its all legit, just mega volume.

Well...here it is guys'. I have found my proud and joy. A 2003 Mustang Mach1. The thing is, the car has 22K on it and they want 22,900$ still. Can't you get a new one for like 28G? So what should I ask them to go for. My thoughts were as followed:

Initial Price: 22,900$
Trade In: 2,100$
Cash Down: 2,500$

This on the payment estimator makes out to be about 300$/month. And I can easily live within those means!! Then you add about 300-350$ for insurace and that is only 650$ for a MACH1!! How cool is that. Is that the mind set I should go in for? Help me out guys!!!

Just checked them out. Their prices are the same as all of the dealers here in Atlanta. They may have been running a special at the time. All I want is an 04 Competition Orange Cobra convertible.

$350 a month for insurance? Damn... you need to stop with the speeding tickets or something.

What is on your driving record for that high of insurance. I had that on my cobra. Until I switched and knocked it down $100 a month. If that's what your paying for just the mach1. You need to shop around.

mega NO! In my opinion 22k is a chunk of miles plus the warranty is running on empty. you can get a new one now out the door for about $26 or $27 with zero miles and a full warranty! I just look at it that it's your car, your baby you put the first miles on it you babied it! You don't know what punk had the used car before you or how they treated it beat it etc....The extra 3-4 g's would give me a lot of peace mentally as well as the full 3yr 36k warranty for only a marginal dent in the pocket book :spot:

There is a dealer in my area advertising new Mach 1s for 23k. Now that's a sweet deal.

Many are getting new 2004 Mach 1s for $23K-$25K. Plus with the brand new '04 you would get better resale since it is 1 year newer and will have 22,000 less miles.

Read the very thread you started. New 2004 mach 1's are rolling off the lot for 23K-24K. $22,900 for a year-old model with 22K miles? Why bother. There are thousands of new Machs out there sitting on lots. Don't swallow the very first one at the dealer closest to you, make a patient and educated search online. Be willing to make a long day or two day trip with a buddy to go retrieve the car from a dealer that's willing to swing you a no-brainer deal. And deals are abundant, at just about any major city, on brand-new ones, and new cars offer you the advantage of MUCH MUCH cheaper financing, meaning you can spend a few grand more on a new car, than used, and STILL wind up cheaper at the end of the payment book.

I say grab a mach 1 now! You got the same power as the new stang coming out (going by the books guys, so don't pounce on me with techno-musclebabble!) As some of the other guys have said on here you can get them for close to what this guy is selling the used one for, but brand new :nice: The mach 1 may not be made again and for that reason alone is worth a purchase..(imo) So you get an awesome stang now for a great price it's a limited model, should have better resale value, you can go get one now and have it for this summer instead of waiting til like sept or october to be cruisin.....not seeing too many downsides here...go get a mach 1 hopefully screaming yellow! :spot:
