New KB numbers at the track

Corrected its an 11.02. I am running slicks with about 97 octain. 91 mixed with a couple gallons of 100 (race fuel). I am currently running the stock gt block and internals. Impressive eh? And they all say it cant be done hehe

I installed it myslelf. and its running on the 9psi tune from KB. Hopefully the next couple of weeks EDGE products is going to give me a custome tune...Im hoping for 490-500 at the wheels...cross your fingers =)

The stalk 2v mod motor is very impressive as long as you keep out of detonation.

Im no expert but 14psi is alot to be running on a stock block. Ive been told that 9 is as high as you should go safely on stock internals. Im planning on a Kenne Bell in the next year or so but before that goes on, im forging that ****. Dont need to buy a new block before i have to cuz i put a rod through it.
But very nice times btw. What other mods did you do so i can get an idea of what it would take to get there. Lets see some dyno #s too.
:hail2: :hail2: :flag: :nice:

Yea you better at least get some dished low compresion pistons in there, because I know a guy who has a 99-00 GT and put on a procharger SC and run it at about 14 PSI with stock insides and low and behold a few month later I saw one of his now BLACK pistons laying on the desk at a local speed shop.It was due to detination,so unless you lower the CR you most likly will be spending a TON to get it fixed.

Well you can't compare a procharger with a KB. The air temp and tune might be quite different in the same boost conditions..

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Horsepower doesn't kill motors.....detonation does. Period.

I've seen a stock DOHC (98 motor) with a T-trim....20 pounds of boost.....ran 9's. Made a crapload of runs safely while being shifted at 8200 rpm. Only reason the motor crapped was because they upped the shift points to 8700, the wrist pin snapped. The rest of the motor looked great.....even the pistons.

Modular blocks are amazingly strong. Even the internals. No detonation....no problem.

But one little ping pushing that much power and RPMs........forget it.

Plus it seems to be luck of the draw. That car was one of the good ones. I've heard of a guy spinning a bearing on a stock 2v, a new one at that.
