Yeah, it seems it's been hit or miss with them. I lucked out and the Stage 2 I got is runing great.

HA...I guess I was WAYYYYYYY off target. I am way passed that break in period...and the Clutch chatterz like a MOFO...Arg..I wonder why it is still chattering .....I got the Flywheel Resurfaced And everything! Arg :notnice:
After this experience...I dont think I will buy ANY performance clutch. And just go with OEM ford clutch once I burn out the Stock clutch i Am gonna have to put back in :bang:
Hopefully SPEC reimburses me for the Labor it will cost to get the spec clutch out......do you think they will? THEY SHOULD!
Or they will BE :owned:

I agree.....I love SPEC. Remember that the break-in period is stop and go type of traffic, not 500 miles on the highway.

Mr. GT 02, what problems did you have with yours? Just curious??? I have the stage III and love it.

How can you drag it down the street? You don't have a clutch.

The SPEC Stage 2 I had in my 2K GT only had minimal chatter/vibration. My only grunt was that the Throw-Out Bearing began to squeal after being in my car a total of 3 weeks. It actually squealed louder than the stocker that was in for almost 4 full years at the time, but man would that things hold.

I'm sorry, I will never agree with this. I have had nothing but positive experiences with spec, only problems with the install. The most common problem I have seen would be flywheel not being resurfaced correctly. I have a Stage II and have never had any chatter, nor any friends that have problems with them. An install can be the determining factor how the clutch works for its entire life.

Question about chattering

Hearing how many people here have experience with their clutches maybe you can help me. As far as right now I have a stock clutch in my 99 cobra and it is making a chattering or rattling noise at certain times. When the car is idleing and the clutch is let out completely and when it is in gear and I am moving at a slow speed (it probably makes a noise while in gear moving faster however I can not hear it over my exhaust.) It stops making this noise when I lightly push in the clutch but BEFORE the clutch is engaged (meaning before I am able to put the car in gear) and when I push the clutch all the way down. Is this a clutch plate? throw out bearing? Cable adjustment?

Also is this okay for a while or should I Get this replaced immediately or run the risk of driving and losing my clutch?

I appreciate the time for this.
