Do Eibach Sportline Springs hurt 60ft times?

  • Sponsors (?)

That's what they say...it's due to the lack of weight transfer with the shorter and stiffer springs. How much it would effect you would depend on how well you can drive, I'd guess. You'd have to feather the throttle a little differently due to this apparent loss of available weight transfer that helps traction. My wife and I still would like to put lowering springs on our GTs because of the 4X4 look they currently have. I personally don't care if I lose a tiny bit off the line, and that's all I think it would be, if any, again, depending on driver ability. Just my 2 cents, my opinion... I'd say go for it dude - lower that Stang!

I highly doubt lowering the car 1-2" will have a negitive effect on most the cars on this site. IMO you'd have to be a bonafide drag car pushing 500+rwhp for it to make a difference. For the guys under that amount of HP, and especially for stockish GT's, its not going to make a noticeable difference.

I have them on my car. From the day I put them on untill the day I heard about the pinion snubber I spun like hell. I jacked my car up, once a friend told me about cutting down my pinion snubber. It was about 1/16" from the rear end housing. So it wasn't letting me have any suspension travel hardly. I cut it down a ways and it has been MUCH better ever since. Need to get rid of the stock shocks though.... kinda bouncy.

This may be a little off the topic but what if you have adjustable shocks/struts.

Would setting to softest setting in front help the weight transfer? and setting firmest in the rear helps the rear tires plant better?

you're on the right track. here are some other tips:

inflate front tires to 36+psi
right headlight removal
spoiler removal
spark tire/jack removal
front sway bar removal

these all constitute in better e.t's

I took my spare tire and jack out last time I ran. The headlight looks like too much work to take it on my 98 atleast, maybe I'll take a look at it again, maybe its not so hard. I have to use the front sway bar to jack the front of my car up. Its too low to get a jack under the kmember, so i have to jack it up there a little bit first, and then put a jack under the kmember. It sucks. I'll up the tire pressure in the front tires next time im at the track

Well i know they hurt my 60ft. Its that weight trans. When i got them springs i didn't know if i liked them or not. But hell i feel like i'm a formula 1 driver since i got them on. I try to hit all the turns now.

Also prefer to race people of a roll now since i got them. You always win or lose something when you seriously mod your car.
