SVT Cobra vs. 2004 srt-10

What about a 2002 Firebird Firehawk with a procharger... tough match? (before you flame, I am not wanting to internet race) - just would like some thoughts. We are going to run in the 1/8 mile at the track.

Those Vipers are pigs for what they are...they weigh in at around 3400lbs...That's pretty heavy for a 2-seater...So that race came down to drivers shifting ablility because it only has about 200lbs on the Cobra and about the same RWHP...

In a motor trend mag of mine they tested the ford GT and Viper both 500 hp and tq.
Ford did the 1/4 in 11something at like 122 or 123
viper lost to the ford by a tenth or a few hundreths also at 122 or 123

so i think the viper guy doesn't know how to drive that beast oh and the viper now has the best brakes ever 97 feet from 60 to 0

Yea,
That driver of the Viper looked as if he was complaining a bit about something at the end of the clip (bouncing off the rev limiter???)
Anyway A viper is a sick ride. BIG BUCKS. The Mustang Cobra. a sick ride also. I am not EVEn going to start talking about the difference in price. Two different prices for two completely different customers. A race on a roll. It's all about correct gear selection at the third honk. I'm not flamin but that guy with the Viper but it looked as if it was Dad's car. That's cool. If I'm right great if not, it's ok. I wish my Dad had a Viper for me to liberate from the family garage when he was out of town. Unfortunately all I had to sneak was a 1979 Mercedes 450 SEL.
All said a stock SRT-10 and a modded 03/04 Cobra is a pretty even match. Great video again. It just makes us mustang guys feel good when something we own beats something Kelsey Grammer owns.

Hmmmmmmmmm

I raced a 04 SRT-10 a few weeks ago on the Freeway. It was from 65 to around 125 and I had him by 1 car length from the start and by over 2+ at the end pulling away slightly. This was when I had 450 RWHP/480 TQ. We pulled off and chatted for a few mins and he was a good guy. His Viper was like 2 months old (like my Cobra) and he was my age (29 again) so we had a lot in common. He asked why I chose the Cobra and I told him that for the money, it was the ONLY Choice. I had looked into the Viper when I first got back from working over in the MIDEAST as a Contractor but decided to stay Ford and and another Pony to my stable...lol
