Im planning on gettin a new t-5 for my stang. Also, what type of clutch, flywheel should i get? Im not looking for any performance things cuz im low in cash. However, i wanna put about 350 ft lbs tq to the wheels and about 250-300 hp at the wheels. Do i have to take the exhaust off to get to the tranny/clutch?

Clutch depends on your budget, centerforce has quite a few nice ones for about $200-300, you might not need a new flywheel -- may just need resurfacing <$50. And your last question scares me. Have you ever done a clutch install before, if not you might want to leave it to the pros or get an experienced friend to help. (If you have an H pipe you will have to drop the exhaust to pull the tranny, if you dont you probably will still have to drop it to back out the tranny, but I'm not sure.) Good Luck :nice:

Yea I agree with kdog x. That's just scary. Why are you putting a new T5 in the car anyway? What are you going to use the car for? Street duty, track, both? If it's a track only car, just get a C4. Street/track, it's up to you. Just street, I would say T5; much more fun to drive. If the car runs fine now, I would hold off on the new clutch and tranny until you get under the car, get a manual, and see what is really involved in doing what you're talking about. As for a clutch, centerforce is what I'm running, and couldn't be happier. I don't remember much about it since it's been over 2 years since I installed it. They will be able to recommend a clutch based on hp and intended use of the car. As far as a flywheel goes. For the hp you're hoping for, I see no reason not to just use a factory ford one. Good luck man
