Wheel spacers with longer studs

I am going to be installing strange axles with the longer hardened wheel studs. I have a 99 Mustang GT and the wheels have a center cap to cover the studs. What would I have to get for a spacer so that I can still run my OEM wheels on the street? Any suggestions???

Depends on the weel and how long the new studs are. If they are 3" studs (mostliekly since that's the standard), you'll need at least a 1" spacer. Which may or may not create clearance troubles between the fender and the outside edge of your tire.

If it were me, I'd just trim the studs with a cut off wheel or get wheel that let you run longer studs. They'd still be hardened studs, but some tracks might not let them pass tech if they are required for your speeds.

Actually, I think they are going to be 2.5" studs. Maybe I can get away with a 1/2" spacer from maximum motorsports. I'd like to get a nice set of welds or even bogarts but with the cash I spent this year on the car it is not an option.

Best thing to do, IMO, would be to get the axles installed, bolt the wheels on and make some measurements. Then order the part you need. It's the best and easiest way short of someone else doing it already and telling you what to get.
